Severus's POV

"Your highness, I've search the whole manor but Eloise is not really here." Theodore said

I curse after I heard that. Where could she be? The situation here is really bad. Where those creatures come from!?

"Your highness, one of the mage collapse in front of the manor! His whole body was covered in dark miasma!"

I run outside with Theodore. The duke is still on his business trip at Eastern Empire, sir Elliote is probably at the palace with my sister, and Eloise is nowhere to be found. We have to protect the ducal's state at this point.

Really, this is pain in the ass

Who started this anyway!?

"Growl!!!"

I heard a creature coming at me, I swung my sword to it. These jerks are stronger than I imagined

A creature suddenly firing at us. It's lightning!

We manage to dodge the first one, here comes the second one!

It release another lightning towards us. I manage to shield myself with a sacred sword that my father hand me as soon as he announced that I'm gonna be the crown prince

It stopped releasing it's lightning so I took that chance and slash it.

"Theodore! Protect the citizens on the west side! I'll take it from here!"

"Yes, your highness!" He rushed towards the west side where all the commoners are

I heard another growl coming at me, I prepared myself to cut the damn creature but before it release it's lightning, it growl louder than before and seconds later, it vanish

An arrow fell near my foot. I picked it. This arrow, could it be...

"I'm late, aren't I?" She smirked at she wipe her sweat on her face. "I'm sorry for disappearing, your highness!"

She run towards me, I can tell that she's exhausted. I embrace her as soon as she open her arms to me

"Where have you been?" I asked

"I followed Raiden. I went into the woods and meet Thalia."

Thalia? That girl who's been a topic for a couple of months in the capital?

"What about her?"

"She started all of this, she released all those creatures to destroy the empire."

"Why would she do that?" I'm confused

"Because she wants to kill me. She gained the black magic and planned this stuff."

I look at her eyes, yes Eloise's reputation is damaged and all but her intentions are pure.

My conscience tells me to believe her. I know her. She went to a lot of experience but losing her mother is the worst. What made you think to ruin your reputation and made yourself the villain in people's eyes?

I hugged her tight, "You made me worried, you know that?" I whispered

She hugged me back, I can feel her warmth, I don't want to let go and lose her again

I never showed up since that incident because I feel guilty. I always watch her from afar, I smiled whenever I see her enjoying herself.

Many years have passed and yet my feelings never changed.

"Let's finish this together." I said, she nodded and smiled at me
