Chapter 7

After the meeting, Miyake, Shin, Aug along with his two escorts, Mark, Cecily, Maria, and Olivia are together, slowly walking home

Miyake POV

"Hey, Mark. Can I go over to your house now?"

"Eh? My house?"

"I want to discuss various things about my new sword."

"Oh, sure!"

"Can I tag along?" A voice interrupts them

"Tony! Guess you're still interested in the Bean Smithing, even though you don't want to be a knight."

"I only hate the knight academy, not swords or knights. Looking at swords excites me like everyone else. But I'll be forced to attend the knight academy if I drop out of class S. So I can't be open about it" Tony says in a tired voice

"...You sure have it tough"

"So what kind of sword do you have in mind Shin-kun?" and so those three start having an in-depth conversation about swords, walking slower than the rest of us

"A thin blade is a must, but it does make it more fragile...and having a lot of spares would cost too much money..."

"Even the grandson of the Magi is troubled over money?"

"I only get some allowance."

"How about mass-producing an entire sword, including hilt, with a mold? It would lower the cost"

"I thought about that as well, but the vibration becomes a problem when it's made in one piece..."

"Right, your hand would vibrate too..." after a short pause Tony and Mark start laughing

"Don't imagine it and laugh"

After calming himself down Tony suggests "Then why not make a sword, where you can easily switch out the blade"

"That's it!!"

"If possible, I want to change blades with one movement"

"That would raise the costs of the development, though..."

"Normally the blade is firmly attached to the hilt, so it doesn't come off. But we do have to consider the vibration. Couldn't you keep the assembly more simple, as long as the blade does not come off?" 

"That's it!!!"

"You're a great help, Tony!"

"Let's hurry to the smith! I'm overflowing with ideas!" 

"Hey Miyake, what are you guys planning to do?" Maria asks

"Well, considering that trio just keeps on talking about how to make Shin's sword, the smithy is probably our destination, why?"

"Well...can we go with Olivia while you guys are in the smith?"

"I want to talk with her some more, too" Cecily adds

"Go easy on me..."

"Sure I'm not going to stop you from having fun, but if something happens immediately come back to us, okay?"

"Okay..."

"Oh, what a huge building. What's in there?" Shin asks

"That's the training ground for the defense department"

"!!?" Out of nowhere the wall next to the group explodes sending debris flying and Miyake quickly protects everyone with a barrier

"W-What the...!?"
