AS GREEN AS GRASS

I work hard and play less
Talk less and work always
Living in a constant state of congealed sleep
I'm tired but I don't show it
Others are chasing shortcuts
Some are professional layabouts
But they get it easy
They have it all easier than me
I'm unbothered by their dereliction
Or their effervescent filled celebrations
For their undeserved success
I'm not jealous
No, I'm not
But while they all snore in a sonorous sleep
I'm bathed in green envy
As green as grass
