"Fine. I am doing it for you, not any other reason."

"Thank you, dear. I will let him know he can visit."

"Tomorrow at 4 pm. That's when I will be free to attend to visitors. Let him know and I won't spare an hour if he doesn't come by that time."

"I'm sure he will be early." She told him, reassuringly.

"I've heard you."

"O se oko mi. Hope you haven't forgotten your visit with Lola next weekend?" She asked anxiously.
[Thank you, my dear.]

He chuckled a little. "How can I forget when I literally have a human alert as a girlfriend? No, I haven't. We will see you next week."

"Good then. I'll be expecting both of you. Your grandma will be back before then." She told excitedly. Demilade just smile.

"Okay. Bye, Mom."

"Love you, son." She said before ending the call. He smiled a little before dropping the phone down. He pressed the intercom button and said when Uche answered his call.

"I will be having a visitor tomorrow by 4 pm. He goes by Jerry Ninalowo. Add it to my schedule for tomorrow and remind me tomorrow by 3 pm. I might forget about it."

"Okay, sir," Uche replied. And he took his hand off the button.

Demilade was with his visitor who happened to be his stepbrother. Even if it was the last thing he want to do - sitting with him and talking to him, he just have to do it because he promised his mother.

When his PA had came telling about his visitor, it suddenly ruined his mood and he was about to tell him that he was busy and that he should reschedule the visit but he thought against it since he already made a promise and assured his mother that he won't deny his visit.

Now he was sitting with the unwanted visitor.

As much as he want to deny it, he could see the resemblance. He always thought he looks like his mother but his main resemblance was with the man sitting in front of him. And they were born of different mothers and the only person with whom they could share a facial gene is no other than their sperm donor who happens to father them. Lawrence Ninalowo.

He was almost the same in height as him. He has the same body stature as him and he looked just like him aside from some slight differences.

"Thanks for welcoming me to your office." The man before him said. He just nodded, face impassive. "I am also glad that you replied to my text. I wasn't expecting so much but you showed how great you are. And I am grateful. I really appreciate it." He added.

Demilade replied to him. "So the anonymous message was from you?"

"Sorry that I sent it as an anonymous sender." He rubbed his palms together. "I didn't want to be forward since you... Know.... our current relationship. I didn't want to get you angry and... We really need the help. But thanks for answering our message." He appreciated it gratefully.

"I will do the same for any other person that asks for my help, so you shouldn't think I did it because it was your family. As far as I am concerned, it was anonymous and I helped the anonymous individual who needed my help. Nothing special." Demilade answered with a bored tone.

The man looked at him and nodded. He wasn't expecting to hear the reply from him but he wasn't surprised either.

"So why did you really tell my mother you wanted to see me? I'm sure you didn't just come to reveal the identity of the anonymous beggar." Demilade asked sternly.

He shook his head while he replied. "Yes, you're right." He looked down at his fingers. "Actually my parents... Dad especially sent me here." Demilade face remained impassive. He was just staring at the man with a face void of emotions. "I came on behalf of them to apologize again. I really hope you can find it in your heart to forgive my parents. I know they hurt you and your mother but they've realized their mistakes and they are truly sorry. Please, I am begging you, please find it in your heart to forgive us."

Demilade was quiet for a while. The man looked up, waiting to hear what he have to say. But he wasn't looking in his direction anymore. And he still has that expressionless face on him.

Then Demilade breaks the silence not long after.

"I am so sure my mother made my intentions clear to all of you."

"Yes, she did." The man replied calmly.

"Then?" Demilade quirked a brow.

"I was hoping that I could speak to you again. I know nothing justifies what happened to you and your mother in the past. I and my siblings are suffering from something that our parents had done. We don't deserve any pity from you. But I am hoping and begging you to forgive us. I am begging. Please have a change of heart and accept our apology. Dad is really sorry."

He scoffed before answering him. "Was he sorry when he denied me as his son? Was he sorry that he never looked back to know if he ever has a son? Was he sorry when he used my mother? Was he sorry when I have to work my ass off to put food on the table? Was he sorry when I have to do jobs I hated so I could go to school and become someone? Was he sorry when I have to go to bed without food? Was he sorry for making my mother cry every night for years? Answer me. You don't have any right to tell me what to do. My answer will remain the same. Let's not have this conversation again unless you might not like what I am going to do." Demilade stood up. "I've got a place to be. You know your way out."

And Demilade left the visiting room, leaving the stupefied man in the room.
