Honestly, she was also curious to know what Demilade had got her brother. The guy was a bundle of surprise. He was very unpredictable his friends would say.

"Of course not. It's his. He can open it anytime he wants." Demilade answered and Lola gave him a go-ahead nod. "What about the twins?"

"They are upstairs. They are ransacking for clothes to wear. I left them there to please themselves. When they are done, they know their way downstairs." Lola answered before she turned her attention back to her brother.

Daniel was opening the box slowly and carefully not to destroy the wrapper. From looking at it, he could tell it was different and the box was openable without tearing the wrapper off. So he did it gently.

He could hear his sister's boyfriend talking to her but he can't make out the words. He had completely blocked out every other thing in the room and he was anxious to know what was in the box. The feeling makes his palm sweaty and a bit shaky.

He was able to get the side that would make him open the box without ripping the wrapper. And he finally opened the box.

He stilled after opening the box and he watched in silence at the content of the box. And with the same sweaty and shaky hands, he let the cover of the box fall on top of his knees. There was a book - the size of a magazine in the box and he lifted it looking at what was in it. He doesn't seem to understand and he looked into the box, there were still more things in it. There was a brown envelope too. He dropped the magazine and he picked up the brown paper and he searched the content of the envelope and there were different documents and papers in it. Most of them have his name on them. He could hardly comprehend what was in the papers. His vision was becoming blurry as he read through the content of the papers quickly. He swiped from one to the other then his eyes fell on the green book that was left at the bottom of the box. He put the papers together quickly and he lifted the book. It was a passport containing his flight ticket to the United Kingdom.

His hands began to grow numb, his eyes blurred with tears and his heart threatened to dig a hole out of his chest at the disbelief, shock, and incredulity of what was happening.

This was the greatest shock of his life.

He can't still seem to believe it and with his shaky hands, he opened the passport and read every last one of the words in it. And he was able to confirm that his eyes and mind wasn't playing trick on him. It was surely his. It was his name, his bio information, and details of him that were written on the papers and the National passport. And suddenly he released a sob laugh, he used his left palm to cover his mouth before closing his eyes letting the tears fall freely down his cheeks.

Lola took a glance at her boyfriend who had brought out his phone from God-knows-where and was scrolling through it. From where she sat, she could see Daniel trembling hands. And all that she saw him bring out of the box were papers and papers and he kept reading them one after the other, looking and swiping from one to the other. She wondered what was in it. She had hoped Demilade would say something about it but his attention was not on either of them. He was looking at something on his phone with keen interest.

She finally stands up when she saw her brother's face turned red due to his skin color and he released muffled tears. Then a lone tear dropped down his eyes. She walked over to his side while he cover his eyes crying on his palm.

"What is it? What's in it?" Lola asked quietly, searching his face for a clue. But she got nothing.

He wasn't able to answer her as he kept crying. She looked at him quizzically before she looked down and her eyes caught the green book inside the box. She picked it up. The Federal Republic of Nigeria with the coat of arms of the country was on the front cover in gold ink while Passport was inscribed at the bottom with a plane ticket at the center. She opened it slowly and she was met with the shock of her life. It belongs to her brother.
