I was smiling widely as I walk through our dining table. I could hear my parent's giggles and laughter.
"What's the commotion about?. I think you guys forgot to add up your beautiful daughter." I ask using my serious voice.

"For your information, I just saw you sleeping peacefully at your bed 5 minutes ago princess." Dad mocked me.

"Okay fine let's go back to the topic parents."

"Your dad ask me if he could cook for our breakfast." Mom said with a little smirk forming on her lips. Hmm, I wonder why.

" Isn't it good news?"

"It is not! He could burn the whole kitchen!" Mom replies.

I burst out laughing at my mom's confession. My dad's face turns red as he looks at my mom.

"You didn't even spare our daughter! I told you don't shame me to her." dad looks so broke, aww my dadda. Slowly guilt eats me so I decided to hug my father. Soothing him to make him feel better.

"It's fine dad if I get to know this earlier." Still hugging him and smiling genuinely.

"See Amelia? Our daughter is very understanding unlike you" dad rants but I know it's a joke.

"Whatever Raphael, you two can please sit down so that the Queen of the kitchen could cook?." Ah! This woman loves mocking and she's my mom!

I giggle and pull one of the chairs to sit down. We talk and made jokes while mom is always mocking my dad. After mom finish cooking she told me to set the table.

"But you daddy, sit back and relax for you've done enough work to give us a comfortable life." It's not me who said that it's mom.

I smile widely while dad looks so touched by my mom's words. But before dad could answer I heard a loud bang on our door.

"Raphael! What is that?" Mom was so terrified and my inside starts to panic! What the hell is happening?
We heard another bang and I can see fear in my parent's eyes.

"Amara go inside your room! Hide under your bed and never get out when you can still hear voices. Do you understand me?!" Dad instructs me while trembling.

"But dad." Hot liquid filled my eyes, no I will not hide without them!

"No buts Amara! Go hide!" I flinched because dad shouts at me.
I saw guiltiness in his eyes but also the determination to push me to hide.

"Please princess, cover your ears baby. Mom and dad always love you." Tears escape my eyes and I run as fast as I can to my room.

I heard another loud bang again and so many footsteps.

"Stoyat' na kolenyakh!" kneel!.
I heard a language I couldn't understand but I know for sure that they are Russians. I got goosebumps, Russians are the long-time enemy of Italians. How come did they enter Italy? Did they defeat the Italian Mafias? Yes mafias are well known here.

"I said kneel! grebanyye idioty" fucking idiots.
Sound of gunshots filled my ears as my tears starts streaming down my face. Mom...Dad.. Please God save them.

Gunshots after gunshots. Before the silence prevailed. I crawled out under my bed. Slowly walking near my door. I pressed my ear to the door to hear if there is still someone out there.

Silence.
I open my door very slow so that I could not create any sound.
Walking without sound is hard than waking up every morning with a cold breeze temperature.
But before I could make another step a big rough hand pull me out of nowhere and drug me down the stairs.

Is this how I'm gonna die?

" kuda ty sobirayesh'sya, suka?" where do you think you're going bitch?.
Not understanding his language, I keep on wincing away from his grip. Maybe he lost he's patience on me because instead of gripping my arms he grip my hair until we reach our living room.

There I see my parents lying in their cold bloods, lifeless and hopelessness is in their eyes.

"Mom! Dad!" I shouted as tears streaming down my face and before I could run into their lifeless body I feel a strong bang in my temple making me lose my consciousness.
