"yeah. it's called, 'run like hell'. so, leave in five?"

"as much as i want to run, we can't just leave," tay deadpanned.

malia stepped closer to peter. "you promised you'd help us. i have two witnesses, one here with me now." she pointed to isaac, who nodded. "we still need to find the rift."

"i didn't promise isaac anything. and i didn't promise you that i'd help you commit suicide."

"if you can't help, we can find it ourselves," scott decided.

"we don't like you anyway," tay agreed.

"scott, i admit that you have a flair for beating the odds. but, this? you don't walk away from." he walked backwards. "you run." then he left the station.

malia frowned, isaac grabbing her hand to comfort her. she inhaled deeply, interlocking their fingers.

scott eyed their hands before pushing down the feeling, looking at their faces instead. "malia. we'll find it ourselves. it'll be fine."

"so we should stay here. is that what you're thinking?" hayden asked.

"for now." tay shrugged.

liam shook his head. "it doesn't matter where we are."

hayden sat down next to tay.

"we still need to figure out how to fight them."

"no one can fight them," hayden spoke.

tay sighed.

"douglas can," theo spoke up from inside the cell he was in.

tay sighed again. "why is he in there?"

liam gave her a look.

"he was fine in my apartment!" she complained.

theo nodded. "she's right, i was actually getting comfy." he rolled his eyes at the look they - excluding tay - gave him.

mason leaned forward. "does he need to stay in there?"

"he's still theo," hayden told him.

tay had to admit, she had a point.

"theo saved scott." theo's arms were above his head, holding onto the bars. "remember?"

"he can still hear you," mason said.

hayden turned her head to where theo was, looking him in the eye. "then he can hear me say he needs to shut up so we can figure out how to fight the ghost riders."

"can we not fight or argue today?" tay suggested.

"look, you don't need to figure it out," theo denied.

"because douglas already did," liam realized.

"if he knew how to fight them, then he might know everything about them."

"and guess who knows all about douglas," theo stated, moving over onto the bench.

tay gave her boyfriend and friends a look. "see? he's useful."

"that's never going to happen," mason denied.

"why not?" tay squinted between them. "it's simple and easy, really."

mason shook his head. "no. we're not making that deal."

"i'm making that deal," tay argued.

"nope." liam gave her a look. "i have the sword."
