Carmen frowned in disappointment when Sage moved away from her, but she quickly masked it with a cocky smile and cocked out her hip.
"Here or not, it doesn't matter. You don't put your hands on a mated wolf. Especially the pack's Alpha, without consent." I gritted. Her cocky smile infuriated me. I was trying so hard to stop myself from pouncing on her.
Sage inched closer—if he could get any closer—to my side and slyly brushed his hand against my arm. He could feel how angry I was. He knew what an angry Olivia was like, and he didn't want me to explode. He was doing it for my and Carmen's sake.
The angry me—also known by my family and friends as 'Livid Liv'—is not a version of myself I like to show others. Because when she escapes her cage, someone always gets hurt, mentally or physically, and I always regret it. I overthink my actions—even though most of the time they're warranted—and beat down on myself for letting others get to me and for losing control.
Sage knows this, which is why he's doing everything in his power to keep me calm. He knows my limits and what I go through after an anger episode, and he doesn't want to see me lost in my mind, beating myself up about it. It was his way of caring for me. It was the sweetest sentiment. However, knowing this only ignited my anger further, knowing that Carmen was trying to make a move on him.
I know I have no right to be possessive of him, but I can't help it. It's the wolf in me, and this stupid pull that I refuse to admit I feel towards him. Either way, I refuse to let this trashy whore stake claim on my Alpha.
"Whatever. He's not even fully mated yet. Her mark isn't on his neck, so he's free game as far as I'm concerned." Carmen huffed in annoyance.
I growled possessively at her words. To everyone else, it may have sounded like a warning, but to Sage and the Spartans, it was me staking my claim, and Sage knew it. He entered my mind.
I'm yours. No one else's. I'll wait for you as long as it takes. She doesn't compare to you, Tenshi {Angel}. His words gave me the conviction that he was mine and soothed me ever so slightly for the second time.
The STD-carrying whore flinched at the sound of my growl. I sadistically chuckled and smirked. Her fear encouraged me. "The moment he felt the bond, he was no longer free game. And no, he may not bear her mark, yet, but if what she's told me is true, then he will...very soon." I stated, matter-of-factly.
Sage stiffened next to me. His excitement and joy rolled off of him onto me. I could practically feel the smirk on his face.
Carmen's eyes narrowed in accusation. "How do you know that?! You don't even know who she is, you fucking liar!" She growled.
"I do know who she is. But unlike you, I actually have respect for my ranks, and I respect her choice to keep her identity a secret. I know how hard it is for her."
She scoffed and rolled her eyes once more. "Yeah, sure you do. Look, save the pity party bullshit for someone who actually cares, April. I, however, will make passes at whoever I want and there is nothing you can do about it!" The snooty smile on her face caused the straining dam to crack and spouts of water flowed with pressure.
My eyes narrowed even further in anger. I was so sick of this dumb bitch and her disgusting ways and blatant disregard for others and the way that she speaks to people as if she owns this pack. I was not going to let her talk to me or anyone else in this school like that anymore.
By now our bickering had attracted a crowd. Everyone watched our exchange with excited eyes. Some wanted me to put Carmen in her place, while some wanted Carmen to shame me. Others just wanted us to get into a catfight and wait for one of our boobs to pop out. Horny bastards.
