Chapter eighteen: Memories

"Sophie" "Hmm? what?"

"A penny for your thoughts?" "Just thinking about mom" Natasha stayed quiet waiting for her to continue

"I- uhh I was thinking what if we won't be able to save everyone..."

"Sophie, look at me" Sophia tilted her head slightly to look at the spy

"I promised you I would do anything in my power to bring everyone back including your mom ok?"

"Yeah I know, I'm sorry I doubted you" "You didn't doubt me sweetheart you're missing your mom and it's ok"

"Do you have a mom, auntie Tasha?" "I do" "What's her name?"

"Melina" "That's a pretty name" Natasha smiled

"I have a sister too" "You do?" Sophia asked in shock and excitement

"Yeah her name is Yelena, she's my baby sister"

"Wait but auntie Tasha, didn't you say your parents are dead?"

"They are but... Melina is like a mom to me and Yelena is like a sister to me even if we're not related by blood" Natahsa said with a smile

"Oh this is nice" "Just like you and me, you know you're like the daughter I never had even if you're not really mine"

Sophia smiled sweetly at the redhead "I love you auntie Tasha"

"I love you more sweetie"

"Are you girls going to walk or stay there forever?"

Natasha rolled her eyes "Shut up Barton" "Come on let's go"

"Welcome" a man in a cape greeted them, all of them got ready to fight

"Natasha, daughter of Ivan. Clint, son of Edith. Sophia, daughter of Wanda"

"Who are you?"

"Consider me a guide. To you, and to all who seek the Soul Stone"

"Oh, good. You tell us where it is. Then we'll be on our way"

"What you seek lies in front of you... as does what you fear"

"The stone is down there?"

"For one of you. For the others... In order to take the stone, you must lose that which you love. An everlasting exchange. A soul, for a soul"

"Maybe he's making this shit up" Clint said

"No. I don't think so." "Why, 'cause he knows your Daddy's name?"

"I didn't. Thanos left here with the stone without his daughter. It's not a coincidence" "Yeah"

"What are we going to do?" Sophia asked

"Whatever it takes" "If we don't get that stone, billions of people stay dead"

"Then I guess we both know who it's gotta be"

"I guess we do" "What do you mean?" Sophia asked looking confused

"I'm starting to think we don't mean the same person"

"For the last five years I've been trying to do one thing, Get to right here. That's all it's been about. Bringing everybody back"

"Oh, don't you get all decent on me now"

"What? no Tasha you can't!"

"Tell my family I love them" Clint said while tackling Natasha to the ground.

"You tell them yourself" Natasha said as she got out of his embrace.

"Tasha no!" Sophia begged as she ran after her

"I'm sorry Sophie I have to do this, you will get your mother back and you won't need me anymore ok?" Natasha said with tears in her eyes.

"I love you, always remember that, you're like a daughter to me I'm truly sorry"

Natasha began to run towards the edge, Sophia was sobbing begging Natasha not to sacrifice herself.

She ran after her "Please don't do this"

"I- I need you, please don't do this. We- we can find another way please Tasha I need you I can't lose you, you're all I have" Sophia cried out.

"I love you Sophie, so much, tell everyone i'm sorry"

And with that she jumped off the cliff.

"No!" Sophia ran towards the edge to catch her but it was too late.

Clint looked horrified at what happened as tears started to fall from his eyes while Sophia sobbed and screamed for Natasha to come back.

~End of flashback~

"I have been having nightmares since that day" Sophia said

"About Nat?" "Yeah it's always the same nightmare, Natasha jumping off the cliff and me begging her not to do it"

"Oh Soph i'm so sorry I didn't know" "It's ok you couldn't have known"

"Do you maybe think..." "What?" "Nothing it's stupid"

"No Lila, what is it?" "Do you think there is a chance she's... alive?"

"Lila- I- I saw the body i'm sorry there is no way she survived this fall"

"I know, I know but I wish she was here, I wish I got to say goodbye"

"I know i'm sorry Lila" "It's ok I uh i'm gonna go get some air"

Sophia watched as Lila walked quickly outside, knowing her friend very well, she knew her mind felt heavy, she could feel her mind racing.

"Hey Lila wait" she said as she ran outside

"Your thoughts are very loud come on talk to me" Lila sighed

"Do you think maybe they will let us go visit her grave?"

"You mean just us?" "Yeah" "But what about Cooper and Nate?"

"You're right" "We could ask them if they can take all of us there"

"You think they would agree to that?"

"We'll never know unless we ask"

Both girls made their way back into the house "Mom?" Sophia called

"Yes honey?" "Can we ask you something?"

"Sure honey what is it?" "We were wondering if uh if there is maybe a possibility for you to umm take us to auntie Tasha's grave?"

Wanda and Laura looked at each other and then back at the girls

"I mean if that's something you're ready for we will take you"

"Wait really?" "Of course you deserve to visit her"

"Oh wow ok so uh when can we go?"

"I don't see why we can't go now" "Really?"

"Yeah" Wanda smiled sweetly at her daughter as she ran to hug her.

"Go get the boys and tell them what's going on ok?" Laura said

"Ok mom thank you" Lila smiled

...

Ivy was now on her way to Clint's house. She obviously didn't know who he was, the only thing she cared about was to find Sophia.

She knew the journey there is going to be long but she couldn't care less

She had to see Sophia, know she is ok

Nothing was going to stop her,  unless...?
