'She has a tattoo?' Sam asked.

'Yeah, I saw it too, on her lower back.' Lana said. 'It's some kind of footprint.' she said.

'A footprint?' Kenny asked as if it was the stupidest thing in the world.

'Yeah, an animal dog footprint... what do you call those?' she asked stupidly. Oh my god. She's a fake blonde but she acts like she's genuinely brain-dead.

'A pawprint?' Danny asked annoyed.

'Yeah that's it!' Lana gushed pleased with herself, Kenny rolled his eyes.

'I thought she'd be more of a skull and crossbones kind of girl,' Sam confessed. Just as Kristy was about to say something, the bell rang, and I had free period. I wanted to get away from everything so I made my way to the library alone. I walked to the back of the library behind the section on medieval times and renissance literature where nobody except for nerds ever go. I pulled out a random book and sat down on the couch. I looked around for the librarian and pulled out my iPod and popped in my head phones discreetly. I kicked back and opened the book on... Roman Gothic Castles? Whatever. And listened to my music. Suddenly my wolf perked up on high alert as it felt a prescence. But instead of growling or feeling defensive, my wolf felt anxious and happy. I began to feel nervous, but didn't look up from the book. Then, I felt as soft hand brush against my cheek, it send shivers up my spine and I froze. I felt my whole face heat up for no apparent reason. The hand was plucking an earbud from my ear and now it was gone, I sat completely still as I attempted to listen to the half effect of the music. When I heard the person humming along to my music I just had to look. I turned to my right, only to see Hailey sitting there in all of her ripped shorts bad-ass glory. Who did she think she was just sitting down like she did, and taking my headphone without my consent? Who am I kidding, she doesn't give a shit about what other people think. She must've sensed that I was staring at her because she turned to face me.

'Do you want something?' she asked like it was me who was interupting her quiet time. I just stared at her awestruck. She seemed to be looking anywhere but me.

'You really are something...' I muttered. She looked up. Her eyes met mine... wow... they were really green. I just stared into her eyes and she stared into mine. I forgot where we were, what I was doing, it was only me and her. Everything went warm and I felt the sudden need to smile like nothing else made me happier. My breathing sped up and my heart slowed down and then she... looked away. My heart beat and breathing returned to normal and time returned back to its original state. The air cooled down and the electric buzz was no longer present. She dropped my earbud.

'I...uh... I... ah... gotta go...' she muttered. Then she grabbed her book bag and retreated from the library, I watched her push open the large Victorian doors and disappear.

'Hey Danny,' I said aloud, clearing my throat. He turned towards me.

'Yeah?' he said.

'Can I tell you something?' I asked unsure.

'Course,' he said. He turned the volume down on the T.V. and turned towards me. 'What's up.'

'What would you do if you looked into someone's eyes and... and everyting around you kind of... stopped.' I said and took a deep breath, thinking about my stare with Hailey. 'And it was like no one else was there?' I said. He just gave me the blankest look possible. 'Forget about...' I muttered. 'I understand if you don't understand..'

'No...' Danny said. 'It's just that... I do.' he said.

'What?' I asked.

'Do you remember two years ago we took that trip out to the beach on West Hampton?' he asked. I nodded, that was a pretty memorable trip. The wild parties, the hot girls, the massive hangovers. 'Well do you remember we were at that one party on that lakehouse?' I nodded, I think it was for some guys Birthday, Robert... Bob... Dave? 'Well, I was getting a drink, when I bumped into this one girl... and I looked in her eyes and it was exactly what you just described.' he said.

'What happened to her?' I asked confused. Who was he talking about?

'It was Kelsey,' he said dreamilly.

'Kelsey?' I aksed suprised. Kelsey was his mate, and a pretty awesome chick at that, she made Danny happy and that was all that counted. She had a short blonde bob and stormy grey eyes. Now that I think about it, I kind of remember Danny acting all lovestruck on the trip. So he had met Kelsey at a party?

'Yup.' he said. I just laid back on the couch and sighed. I was so stressed right now that my brain was pounding against my skull.
