We had arrived at a hotel. It was one of the nice ones, of course. Sina had tons of money at her disposal because of her parents. She paid for two adjoining rooms, one for herself and me, and the other for Ni.
We made our way into the room. Sina opened the door and the fresh hotel scent enveloped us. Two queen-sized mattresses were in the room. A full-blown bathroom was off to the right side of the room and a black TV was resting on a chestnut drawer next to the wall. A door was on the left side of the room leading to where Ni was staying. Next to the bathroom entryway was a kitchen, decorated with chestnut shelves. A bowl of fruit was on the counter, as well as some berries.
I was about to ask about the food when Sina said, "I asked the hotel to bring them up. I figured it would be good to have some food before we ordered anything."
I nodded in response.
"Speaking of ordering food, what do you girls want?" Ni asked.
I glanced over at Sina. "I'll have what you're having."
"Pizza." Sina promptly answered.
Ni smiled then walked out the door.
Sina plopped on her bed, smiling. I sat down on mine. Sina turned to me and said, "So, what have you been up to lately?"
"Um," I racked my brain for what to say, "nothing much."
"Cool."
"What about you?"
The question seemed to amuse Sina, because she sat back with a smug look on her face. "Nothing much."
I furrowed my brows. She was hiding something. I just had to figure out what. "Oh really?"
"Yes really!" Sina smirked. "I'll tell you when Ni gets back."
"Or... you could tell me now."
Sina smiled, hesitating. She opened her mouth, then decided to close it again. Sina then smirked, deciding to keep me in the dark. "I'll tell you later."
I sighed and laid down on the bed. We stayed there in a moment of comfortable silence when Ni opened the door.
"Pizzaaaa!" He called out. Sina shot to her feet and gave Ni a quick peck on the cheek. Apparently it was on impulse because Ni cleared his throat and gestured toward me, prompting Sina to back away and blush slightly. She grabbed the pizza box and set it down on the counter.
I stood and made my way over to Sina's side. We served ourselves and went back over to the beds, smiling. Ni stuck around by the box and filtered through the fruit bowl. He grabbed out a single strawberry and held it up, turning around to face me. He glanced back and forth between me and the strawberry before he declared, "You look like a strawberry, Rachel."
The room was dead silent before Sina started to burst out into laughter. I opened my mouth to protest but Ni cut me off.
"You do!"
With that statement, Sina laughed even louder.
"I do not!" I protested.
Sina wiped her eyes and tried to contain her laughter before she spoke. "You really do, Rach."
"Strawberry." Ni laughed to himself.
I scowled and turned to Sina. "Seriously, Sina? I don't look like a strawberry."
She giggled. "Okay then..." Sina looked back at Ni, then burst into another mini fit of laughter.
I sat on the bed, sighing. I wasn't sure what was worse, being called a strawberry or being back at home.
