Explaining the Multiverse

Start from the beginning

"Okay, so those tremors are somewhat related to what we wanted to talk to you about today," Tee began.

"What are they? What sign?" Qrow questioned.

Dee exhaled, "This'll take a little explaining. Does Quantum Physics exist in your world?" It was a genuine question. Most scientific advancements were made out of curiosity. The results varied from amazing, beneficial, and downright horrific. However, most of Remnant's advancements were made because of the threat of the Creatures of Grimm. Not out of some morbid curiosity, or simply because they wanted to know if they could make those discoveries.

Without pausing, Dee kept talking. "Doesn't matter," he waved his hand. "What matters is, we are outside your universe like we said, alright? But that just means that we're out here," he gestured his hands around him, "in the middle of the multiverse- well- your multiverse."

That familiar growing feeling of confusion soon returned to the people of Remnant.

"Okay, in the simplest of simple terms," Tee jumped in, "your world is only one of infinite worlds out there. Infinite universes."

Tee waved his hand, and everyone was in a black empty space. The shift in location was disorienting to many. Tee lifted his arm, and glowing white trees started sprouting from the ground that was so black, they couldn't see.

"Think of the multiverse like a never-ending forest, and that multiverse has an infinite number of other multiverses inside." Turning to the confused group, Tee tried to keep them on the same page, "I know this seems like a difficult concept to grasp, but please try. Bear with me."

Turning back to the new forest that grew, Tee moved to one of the trees. "Think of each tree is its own multiverse." He pointed to the base, as the tree continued to grow taller and taller. "And each multiverse starts as only one universe. But, as it goes on, it splits off into more than one. Thus, a multiverse begins."

Tee then pointed to the branches above. "The branches that grow with age are the many alternate timelines, parallel universes, and alternate universes- whatever you want to call them. All of these have their own events that play out on their own to varying degrees of similarity."

Dee looked at the group that struggled to comprehend all the new information they were given. "As for the tremors that have been happening," he began, "They have to do with those two over there." Dee pointed up and behind the group.

They turned to look to where he was pointing. Behind them were more trees. This visualization of the multiverse made it look like a very large forest, the trees were no taller than maybe 20 feet. Their mouths became agape when what looked like miles away were two enormous trees towering over the rest. These ones were different from the ones around them, as one was red, and the other was blue.

Adrian just giggled at oddly colored visuals. He pointed and said, "Tee!" The toddler's attempt was something that made Dee chuckle.

As they stared in awe they kept listening to what Tee had to say. "Those two are probably the most well-known multiverses amongst our people."

It wasn't difficult to see why.

"So, those tremors," began Blake, "what are those two doing to cause them? Are they destroying other multiverses?"

"No," Dee answered, "they aren't."

Marrow followed up with his idea. "Are they dying?"

"Quite the opposite, in fact. They're growing. "Faster than normal."

Looking closer, they saw the branches extending further, and growing branches of their own. As they grew, another tremor shook the ground.

Ruby asked her questions next, "Why are they growing so fast? Is there any way to stop them?"
