LEAD 33: working stiff[s]

Beginne am Anfang

Q is linked to Quade, though it’s too obvious for Oliver to actually be the mastermind―as cynical and conniving as he is, what’s his beef with the NYPD and if so, the creatures that come with it? Q wants Helena out of the way now that she’s given all of her information to Quade. Q’s part of the FBI but what does the Bureau have against creatures minus the fact that they’ve been classified as a ‘threat’ to society.

This case, amongst many other things, is doing my head in. Those damn drops of lead are starting to weight on my scalp, spilling onto my shoulders and before long; I’ll be a lead-squashed pancake with Q pouring maple syrup on my corpse.

I can just hear my mother’s voice hinder in my ear if she were next to me, ‘Akira you’re overthinking everything, you need to calm down and think with impartial judgement, and therefore you can crack any case that’s presented to you―but no FBI Agents. Remember, nobody likes the FBI.’

If only Janine Stevens knew that her one and only daughter had fallen down the cursed rabbit hole and is metaphorically drowning in guilt from hurting said FBI partner, and realising how much of a twat she’s been.

      That’s it!

I practically jump up from the desk and stumble towards the whiteboard. I roll the sleeve of my white button-up towards my elbow and start to scribble with my left hand. My inner babbling usually awakens pure genius, that or almost being run over by a taxi.

The team’s already established the fact that Q’s linked to the FBI, he’s either employed or has worked or been around those within the field. He’s a butcher and there’s aggression behind his personal killings, such as Dianne Hemming and the Kitsune massacre. Q also has the ability (and resources) to use technology to his advantage, meaning the distortion devise and being able to erase all data from the internet and hard drive at the push of a button. Q’s methods are methodical, showing premeditation. Q is stupid enough to use a letter as a pseudonym, either as a clue to his identity or location.

       Back-track, I think.

Q’s playing a game, one so complex that once broken apart, it could be considered simplistic.

The first break in the case was Dianne Hemming, who up until recently, was thought to be dead and buried (for good), and not having her hair used as ornamentation for a doll―for Nikita’s switch to flick, something must’ve happened for him to have his memory impaired and be restrained while being forced to watch his lovers murder. That being said, Dianne sought my help, perhaps she knew that someone was onto the fact that she was protecting Hayden from extermination―whatever the cause, she must’ve reached out when Hayden leaked the Diablo information to the FBI and since supernatural was the word of the day in Washington, Nikita was added to the hit-list. However at the time, I wasn’t promoted to Detective, had she known I’d advance in the ranks?

Next on Q’s agenda was the patrol ‘cold cases’ were mapped out as a Pentagram, making the team think that it had some demonic cult action, but it was just a taunt―Q thought he could move his piece forward. However, the team pushed him two steps back when finding the connection between all seven victims with the lack of walkie-talkies and solo schedules. These were taken as trophies, obviously showing some significance to the killer, it could be a possibility that the FBI had cut communications with Q―giving him reason to represent that as a warning through the murders?

Thirdly the use of renound serial killers that burnt their way into American history shows passion. Those excerpts that were chosen, predominantly from Zodiac and Son of Sam express the thrill the killer had when taunting the police, hence intimidating them into doing their bidding or rushing them into causing mistakes. No mistakes (so far) have been replicated in Angel Blue, but there’s been many errors.
