The next morning, the police had arrived at the university and boarded off the hallway Dr Young had been staying, in order to investigate his disappearance. A young woman, no older than 18 approached the hallway entrance attempting to walk past the police officer guarding.

"Excuse me bruv. You can't come pass here innit." The officer said.

"Let me in. I'm the Markus' sister, Maria. I want to know what the detectives have found." She replied.

The officer at first didn't budge, but then a voice from behind called out.

"Let her in. Sergeant. She has a right to know how the investigation is faring." The voice stated.

"Yes sir." Replied the Sergeant, moving aside for Maria.

Maria walked up to the man. He put his hand out.

"I'm Richard Ahmed, the lead detective on this case. We are doing all we can to find your brother." He said.

Maria smiled and shook his hand.

"So what have you got so far?" She asked.

Ahmed's smile dropped.

"Unfortunately, not much. Besides these snowy footprints." He replied, gesturing to the footprints on the floor.

Maria looked down.

"I see. May I go in his room?" She asked. "If by chance he is d-dead, then I'd at least like to collect some stuff to remember him by."

Ahmed gestured to his rooms door.

"Certainly. Take all the time you need." He replied.

Maria walked into his room. The light was still on. She walked over to his crowded desk where his tablet  was. She sat down and began to read his speech.

"Markus. What were you working on?" She thought.

Before reading on she noticed a folded piece of paper underneath the desk.

"The police must have missed this." She said to herself before reaching down to grab the note.

She unfolded the piece of paper and began to read it.

It read:

"Dear diary. I fear my life works may soon fall into the wrong hands. I recently got a call from a group known as 'The Red Star', a Russian Paramilitary group in the heart of Central Asia. They asked me if they could buy my project. I refused of course, but they wouldn't have that. They told me, they'll have it, one way or another."

Maria gasped.

"I need to find this group and get my brother back." She said to herself before folding the paper back up and walking out of the university.
