—Weeks have passed since I last saw Wanda, she started sending in one of the boys to pick up the orders. I was curious of the sudden change but whenever I asked about her when Billy or Tommy came in they were quick to say she was fine and change the subject.

The days started going by faster and I no longer looked forward to my days in the flower shop. On this particular morning I woke up fairly early and made my way to get ready and eat something before leaving the house. Today was the day August 23rd. Everyone knew the town's favourite couple's anniversary was today. So I made an effort to get to the shop a little earlier, in hopes to see Wanda. Every year since the shop opened she's come in right around lunch time to grab flowers for him. Even if it was supposed to be the other way around, that's one of the things that makes her different from everyone else.

As the hours passed there were the usual customers coming in and out. I busied myself with making some new arrangements and tidying the place up. I was a bit confused when I looked at the clock and it read 6:53. I started bringing everything inside and counting the register to close for the night. She didn't even send one of the boys in this time.

She never missed an anniversary, you've been the one she's bought flowers from for over 5 years. Maybe she forgot you thought to yourself. It might have been overstepping but you took the liberty of putting an arrangement together and having one of the delivery men drop it off.

Morning comes and you couldn't help but wonder if she liked them or if they ever arrived to her house. As you got ready and made your way to work, you couldn't help but notice the flowers sitting right on the doorstep of the shop. You checked your phone but found no text from Wanda, the delivery man was sure he left them at the right door. You continued and made your way into the shop to open up.

The day passed fairly fast, but all you could think about was the flowers. Why would she return them? Did the delivery man leave them at the wrong address? Did she bring them back herself? Was she actually okay? So you did the one thing you knew you probably shouldn't have, but you couldn't fight the urge to text her.

"Hey, did you get the flowers i sent over? Haven't seen you in a while.. hope all is well!"

It wasn't overstepping was it? It didn't show you that she read it but the three dots popped up after a minute or two and disappeared just as quickly. Hours passed and there was no response.

Did you do something to upset her? Was sending those flowers overstepping? Was she okay? Did you do something wrong?

A/N— this was not re-read 🥲 anyway hope you guys enjoyed. Next chapter gets interesting 🤨 feel free to leave feedback ˙ᵕ˙
