Summary - Nobody said being the girlfriend of a member of an international touring band would be easy. What are a couple of girls to do on the spookiest night of the year to entertain themselves and dull the pain of longing for their drab halves?

Lizzy blinked her eyes open before she stretched in the bed of Peter's basement apartment. It was the weekend of Halloween and she had driven up to Brooklyn from Cleveland to try and spend the weekend with Peter since it was both their favorite holiday. Unfortunately for them Type O Negative got booked to play a one off show somewhere in Salem, Massachusetts. Peter tried to get out of it, but the record company wouldn't budge and he promised he'd make it up to Lizzy somehow and insisted she'd come to Brooklyn anyway. He'd have the band leave the venue as soon as their set wrapped and drive through the night to see her and spend as much time as he could with her.

Lizzy couldn't help but feel a little disappointed, but she agreed. Of course she really couldn't be upset about it. It was his job to play shows and of course Type O Negative was going to be one of the first bands booked for any Halloween related event that happened. They were an international touring band, afterall.

So still she came. She left as soon as she got off work from the art museum. She had her bag packed up in the trunk of her car waiting for her. As she drove to Brooklyn she mentally calculated if it would be at all feasible for her to drive straight to Massachusetts so she could see the show, but she doubted it. And she didn't know exactly where the venue was and didn't want to get lost. So, she stuck with her original plan, to drive to Brooklyn and see Peter as soon as he got home.

She sat up in his bed. It was so weird to be in his apartment without him, but she liked it. She was surrounded by him. Despite Type O Negative being a successful band, you wouldn't really know it just by looking at Peter's apartment. The only things that really gave away his line of work were his collection of basses, including his large double bass that he had painted green and featured in the Black No. 1 music video. None of his records hung on his walls. No posters or memorabilia. He really was a modest man who liked simple things.

Lizzy looked down and saw two of Peter's cats curled up on the bed, peering up at her with their yellow-green eyes.

"Hungry, kitties?" Lizzy asked as she reached over to pet their soft fur. Their purrs became louder as she did. "Okay, let me feed you."

Lizzy swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood up and stretched again before she strolled over to the kitchenette of Peter's apartment, her feet padded gently on the cold, hard floor. She opened the cabinet where Peter kept their food and kitty treats. As she poured some food into their bowls Peter's phone rang.

She set the bowls down on the ground before making her way to the phone, as her heart fluttered. She was hoping it was him calling to check on her. She lifted the handset to her ear, "Hello?"

"Hey! Whatcha doing?" A familiar voice asked on the other end of the line.

"Hey Andi!" Lizzy said with a smile, "I just woke up from a nap and was feeding Peter's cats. You?"

"Ugh, just got back from Seattle on business," Andi said with a sigh, "Bummed I couldn't make it to the show tonight but whatever. Wanna do something tonight?"

"I mean...yeah, sure," Lizzy said with a nod as she played with the chord of the phone absentmindedly, "What did you have in mind?"

"Kenny was telling me about a haunted house over on Coney Island that's supposed to be really cool. We were gonna do that before the band got booked to play that stupid show, which I had nothing to do with by the way!" Andi sighed out. Apparently she was missing being with her boyfriend on Halloween too.
