One month later

"Are we there yeeeeet," his twin sister dragged on as he passed the Oregon state line. He chuckled slightly.

Ever since the two got their drivers licenses, Mabel had to make the point, more often than not, that Dipper was an extremely careful driver. In other words, he was slow.

"Yes, just a few more minutes," he huffed out and she mumbled back something about it being 'a few more seconds if she were driving'.

He , slowly, pulled up to the shacks drive way and parked the car. Excitement at his peak, he smiled and looked over to his jittery sister. This was there first time actually to prove they're more than just responsible. Their first time to stay somewhere for, more than three months, away from their parents. Their first time to experience what even the blah they want to bc why not.

Mabel, unable to stay in her seat any longer, was the first to spring the car door open,"Well I'm not going to just sit in the car this entire time, let's go find our Grunckle!!"

Dipper, putting his keys in his pocket, followed suit and stepped out of the car as well. The fresh pine breeze relaxed him. ..And all the memories came flooding back. Some from adventures, some from the books, and some, strangely enough, of a yellow triangle. He blinked rapidly shrugged it off when he saw his Grunckle step out of the shacks doors and into a small embrace with his sister.

"Yo! Grunkle Stan! What goes on?!" He shouted from across the lawn as he approached the man.

"Well you certainly grew some inches."

"Or maybe you started shrinking."

They both laughed and Stan shoved his shoulder.

"Come on kids, let's get all you guys stuff into your rooms."

And with that, they obeyed.

~Getting settled~

After getting all their things in their rooms they decided to settle in before it became too late. Dipper, after having dissembled what seemed like the 50th spiderweb, at last sat down on his bed from all his hard getting-settled-in skills.

He took the scene in: his study in front(which consisted of a desk, lamp, and rolling chair), the wardrobe to his right, along with the door, and a triangular window to his left.. Shining a bright yellow.. A blinding yellow...

Oh fuck.

He quickly shielded his eyes before the triangular demon showed his face, well maybe it wasn't his face but you get the point.

"OH it's good to be back!" The isosceles turned to look at the boy in his presence," Well albeit, Pine Tree! What brings you back to my torturous hell called gravity falls?!"

Dipper took a stand, trying to make him self look like an intimidating 17 year old. "Hey! This isn't your hellhole, this is my grunckles shack! So if you wouldn't mind, could you get your triangular eneb out of this place?!"

"Yeesh kid relax, I'm just checking up on my favorite meatsickle in town!"

"Your..favorite?"

"Yes! The kid who actually doesn't take all this shitty magic and Gravity Fall weirdness for granted! Or at the very least recognizes it's significance!"

Dipper was taken aback. "..Well it's hard to miss it when it's in plain sight."

"Well some people are just idiots. Or to much of adults. Gosh do you know how much I hate adults kid? They never truly believe in their kids until they take after them and I mean that's CRAZY. Do what you want when you want, never stop believing-"

"Did you just quote a song?"

"Kid I'm talking. Not in the mood for one of your time-wasting songs," a pause, and the triangle started floating closer,, "why do humans even insist on wasting their precious time on different lengthened vibrations anyways?"

"B-Because," he pursed his lips trying to process a sentence," Because it soothes the human mind." And an awkward silence filled the room as Dipper looked at the window with nervous content and Bill glareing directly at him.

"Well then, that's a misfortune."

Bill tipped his hat towards him and started to vanish, "LATER PINE TREE!" ..and with a start, he woke up.

"Dang it," he groaned, rubbing his temples feeling the on-coming headache.

Dipper sat up on his twin size bed in his own room. The twins, after hitting puberty and all that p jazz, decided it was best to sleep in separate rooms after that. It was for the better, siblings sharing bedrooms until they're both eighteen is not common. Especially if the siblings are different genders.

So at age thirteen ..and a half, they asked their parents(and eventually Grunckle Stan)to be put in separate rooms from then on...but that didn't keep the two of them having sleepovers!

Mabel would usually be the one to knock on her brothers door, and soon enough the two of them would be in her room having deathly pillow fights.

Those days slowly faded away.

Dipper and mabel occasionally would knock on eachothers doors and have sleepovers...it didn't completely disappear..

So when Dipper sleepily knocked on his sister door their first night back, Mabel didn't refuse and abrumptantly ushered him in. All of a sudden they found themselves seated on her bed. And Dipper lean over a few inches to hug his twin in an awkward kind of sibling embrace.

"Nightmares?"

"..yeah..," he mumbled into her sleeve and she held him closer. And with that, they feel asleep together on her bed, just like old times.
