I heard another shot. BANG! I was so disoriented, but I just had to find Y/n. Lights flashed before my eyes. A sharp pain went through my shoulder. Everything after that was a blur.

                                             • • •

I woke up to a bright room and a hand combing over my hair. I went to move but was shushed by a calming voice. After a few minutes, I was fully conscious and Y/n began to explain what had happened.

"Jake was about to shoot us, but the police arrived and shot him first. As he fell to the ground he aimed the gun at us. You jumped in front of me and the bullet hit you in your shoulder. You blacked out afterwards, but they arrested Jake on the charges of kidnapping and assault. He'll be in prison for a while. The doctors were able to remove the bullet from your arm and they said it should heal within 4-6 weeks. The bullet that hit Jake hit his lower stomach and he was taken to the prison hospital."

I took a deep breath and pulled her into a hug. The nightmare was finally over.

Ten years later...
Y/n POV:

"Corbyn! Hurry up we're going to be late!" I yelled down the hall.

"I'm coming!" He yelled back. He ran out to meet me carrying a bunch of stuff. "Sunscreen, water,  sunglasses, extra crocs, snacks, am I missing anything?"

I laughed. "Its just a little league baseball game."

"It's our sons FIRST little league baseball. The start to his career."

I laughed again. "Let's go. Corey is waiting in the car for us." He nodded and we got in the car to head to the fields.

"Are you ready to play today bud? You're going to do amazing." Corbyn looked in the back seat to see our son sitting there in his little baseball uniform and cap.

"Yes daddy! I'm so excited!" Corey replied.

"Alright little man you got this!" Corbyn gave him a fist bump.

I just smiled to myself. My life was a crazy one, but I'm so thankful to have Corbyn and Corey in my life. They make it better each and every day.
