Born in the shadows of my parents
Shielded, guarded, fortified by them
Because they said the world is full of malice and evil
Because they said you are unmindful still

But when the prince entered
Forts were splintered and fragmented
Guards died and were lamented
Shields were shattered and bend
There was chaos
There was mayhem
I felt that somehow I shouldn't have let them

For even in the shadow
I was no Princess, I was a warrior
But my shrouded heart
The prince did tenderly stir
He reached my locus
And ignited a relentless flame
He whispered to my soul
'becomes futile that which remains the same'

They gasped hearing his surname
In their eyes was shame, on their tongue words full of blame
Even though I felt uncaged and untamed
They saw me as maimed

So tell me dear prince,
Will you be my endgame?
Or will you be the memory with which I walk around
The affliction which I can't wear on my sleeves
The affliction I smother, through my eyes deep down
