A sudden decision

Aisha P.O.V
I was working in my office surrounded by a bunch of paperwork I had to do. I was just a normal 23 year old working for a CEO as her PA. 'Vanitas' agency was a pretty successful one and I would say my life is pretty much perfect.
I finished the paperwork I had to and stood up and stretched. Man I'm a hard worker.

I grabbed my jacket and was about to grab my phone when the door burst open. "AISHA! YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST FOUND! Or who I found" Aida said bursting into my office.

Did I mention my boss was my best friend?

"Aida! I told you to go home an hour ago. What the hell are you doing here?" I asked her frustrated and concerned.
"Well, yes I was going home but on my way there guess wha- who I found?" She said jumping a little.

Why was she so excited? Something is up.
"Who did you find Aida?" I asked her suspiciously.  She simply giggles and took my arm. "I'll show you!" She said and dragged me outside. We stood in front of the tall building and I turned to her "why are we here? I swear to god if it's a prank or some shit I'll finally quit this job."
"You wouldn't dare?" She gasped and I shook my head.
She led me towards the back of the building and because it was late at night I couldn't see clearly. We came across a small cardboard box and I kneeled over. There it was.

A black cat curled up into the corner as if it was hiding from the world. I looked over at Aida and widened my eyes in realization.
Oh no. She's gonna make me do it isn't she?
I opened my mouth to argue but she interrupted me. "Look, I know it's not fair but I can't leave the poor thing here. I would have taken him or her with me but I already have two cats and I think I might go crazy if I take in one more. Though you could never have enough of those cute little creatures we call cats. I just need you to keep him for the night. Please! I'm sure you feel lonely too at that big house all by yourself." She said and I stared at her in disbelief.
Lonely? Me? What? She wants me to take care of this cat? huh?
"Pretty please?" She pleaded and when I still didn't answer she offered a raise. Okay, now we're talking.
I was going to take in the cat anyway but who am I to refuse a raise?
Even if it's not fair.
I look back at the cat and see it has gone further into its little corner. "Fine. I'll take care of him until we get him a home or a place at the shelter" I said, and went ahead and picked up the cardboard box.

The Cat let out a whimper and I felt my heart clench. The poor thing looks so fragile.
I smile at it and walk to my car. Aida has already ran away to her office again for god knows what.

I place the box in my passenger seat and get in by myself. I start driving towards the place I call home.

Cats P.O.V
What's happening? Why am I in this car and where is that woman taking me? Is she here because of her? Did she find me?I'm going to die.
I look outside the window and see lights on the streets. Well, at least I won't die of starvation like I had thought. I look at the woman in the driving seat and squirm nervously when she looks back.
She probably knows about me.
"Don't be scared kitty. I'm going to take you to my home. You'll find a nice loving family soon, okay? Just bare with me tonight." The woman said and smiled.

I look away, not knowing why she was being nice. Is she going to make me do chores too. Will she send me to a shelter too? Will she take advantage of me if she found out I'm a hybrid? No. Not everyone is bad. I have to remember that. Maybe she's really a nice person. Should I check?

I look back at her and realize she's talking to me. I make eye contact with her and flinch when she laughs. "Daydreaming already are we?" She said and got out out of the now parked car.

Is she going to leave me here? That's it. She's going too leave me locked up in this car for the whole nights and come back tomorrow and give me to a shelter.
I was looking around the car panicking when she opened the door to my right and took the box I was sitting in.
I looked at the big house in front of me. It wasn't as big as the house I used to live in but still pretty decent.
She took me in and placed me inside. There wasn't much decoration or anything, just a simple house. It wasn't small either. It was just right. I looked at the woman who brought me in and she seemed to be in deep thought. But why did she have to do that while staring at me?
"Alright, you my dear kitty need a bath. Then we can sleep alright?" She said and I widened my green cat eyes in shock.
Bathe? I haven't done that in a long time since it hadn't rained for a while. I usually just stood in the rain to clean myself but it didn't rain much so I followed her to what I assumed must be the bathroom.
She knelt in front of the tub and started the water.

I was peeking at myself through the full view mirror in the hallway outside.

oh boy did I look broken.

Somehow the mirror managed to show the truth yet again.

I heard the woman call for me from outside and I hesitantly walked in the bathroom.

The tub was now filled halfway through and I walked into the woman's now stretched arms. She smelled nice. My cat senses were stronger than those of humans so I could strongly smell her perfume or lotion or whatever she had on. She smelled like roses. I had smelled them once in a park and long story short I fell into the rose bush and got stuck there for a while.

I snap out of the memory when I feel the warm water on my fur. It felt nice actually. She started to clean my fur and I fought the urge to purr when she scratched behind my ears.

After a few minutes of cleaning me, she wrapped me up in a soft towel. It didn't take too long because I always took care of myself and never let myself get too dirty.

"I'll take you to the vet tomorrow so we can see if you have any medical problems and then we can get you a home alright?" She said as she started to dry me off.
I simply meowed loud enough for her to hear. I don't want to go to the vet. They did once and told me I had a broken rib the last time I payed a visit years ago.

Nobody really cared.

The woman took me outside and sat me on a couch in the living room. I sat there patiently waiting for her next actions. She was staring at me again. "Fuck!" She said and I panicked thinking she changed her mind about me. "What do cats eat?" She said and wandered into the kitchen I believe. I relax my tensed muscles and jump off the couch. I went in the direction she disappeared to and found her rummaging through the cabinets for food. "Would you like some milk first? Then I can give you some turkey. Is That alright with you?" She said and I nodded.
She looked taken aback at first and I realized what I just did. "Wait, you can understand me? Well, how?" She started but shook her head and went to get milk I suppose. I calm my nerves down when I realize I'm okay. She doesn't suspect anything yet does she?

I watch as she stops midway and looks back at me. "Wait, what if you are lactose intolerant? Oh god what if something happens to you? Do cats even like milk? Google!! Fucking Aida. why did I agree to do this?" She said as she went back to the living room and started talking. So she's on the phone right now huh?

"Where the fuck do I find tuna at this hour? And what do you mean cat food? I don't keep cat food around here." A Pause. "Yeah!! I have that! So turkey is fine? Right? And water is enough?...ok thanks yeah see ya." She hung up and came back in the kitchen and smiled when she saw me curled up on the floor. "Oh god. Why are you so adorable? Come on. Let's get you some food" she said and I felt myself blush even though it wasn't visible.
She really is nice. Maybe this is it. Maybe she'll give me a better life than that I had a few hours ago.

After I had eaten my food she sat me on the couch and went deeper in the house. I waited patiently for a few minutes and she came back with different clothes on.

"Come on kitty. Time for bed. She said and brought me in a room. It was a nice room actually. Was it hers? Probably. I looked around for a spot to spend the night. When she put me down on the floor, I walked over to a corner and sat down.

This is the best thing that's ever happened to me. I am clean,I am not starving,I have a roof above my head and I'm not cold.

Too bad it won't last forever. She'll probably give me to a shelter tomorrow.
I curl up on the floor and close my eyes. Hopefully I'll sleep peacefully for once. It had only been a few seconds before I was lifted into air again.

"You can sleep on a pillow kitty. It's big enough and I'll get you a blanket. You must be exhausted." The woman said and I widened my eyes in surprise when I was sat upon a soft pillow. It was like a mini bed. She disappeared into what I assume is her closet and came out with a comfy looking blanket. "There you go. Will this be warm enough though? What if it's too warm? Oh god I suck at this." She said as she spread the blanket over me. I felt warm for the first time in months.
I close my eyes satisfied and drifted off to a dreamless sleep.
