"Let us love winter, for it is the spring of genius."
Some say that winter is a time of sadness
The trees are dead and the sun has lost
Her battle against the grey clouds
They hate the rain and the frost
But to me winter is a joyous time
Music flows through each apartment door
Laughing voices echo through the halls
Muddy footprints on the floor
The Christmas carols that our choir would sing
The candles that we would blow out
And all the candy canes we took from the tree
Before the conductor yelled "Time out!"
Hot chocolate in styrofoam cups
The paper snowflakes that we would create
Cold lasagna and pizza pockets
Those sugar cookies that we all ate
Of all the seasons of the year
Winter holds the best memories
The sounds of laughter filled the air
And life was free of miseries
