y/n stared at her watch, counting down the seconds before the clock hit 5pm. finally, time to go home. she grabbed her stuff, holding her car keys in her hand, making her way to the elevator. as she stepped in she was met by seonghwa and yeosang, she smiled at them before standing in the corner of the elevator.
"y/n! so do you have plans later?" seonghwa asked, causing yeosang to look in her direction.
"yeah i'm actually having dinner later to celebrate a special occasion."
"jongho's birthday right? hongjoong invited us!" yeosang said suddenly. y/n stared at them in shock, not knowing what to say
"hongjoong invited you?"
"yeah! he said like 9 people are going.." seonghwa said, a little confused as to why y/n was acting like this
"that's cool, can't wait to see you guys there" y/n said, the elevator chimed, symbolising that they could now leave this awkward atmosphere.
y/n rushed out towards her car, quickly unlocking it and getting inside. she sighed as she leaned back into the head cushion, way better than her office chair. she felt her phone vibrate in her hand, she stared at it in shock as she read the notification
"new group chat: jongho bday!!!!"
she sighed and opened the notification, ready to see how many people hongjoong had secretly invited

hongjoong: this is everyone who's coming to the party!!!
y/n: omfg no
jongho: WHO DID THIS
wooyoung: well i was invited by hongjoong 😧
san: same..?

y/n: nope

hongjoong: what!!! did you 2 wanna have a romantic dinner?
y/n: shut up 😀 i'm gonna drive home now
wooyoung: don't crash
hongjoong: you probably just jinxed it!

y/n walked into her apartment, setting her keys down on the table next to the door. she checked the time, 5:45 the dinner was at 7:00 so she had a sensible amount of time. she quickly took a shower and did her hair and make up ready for the dinner, she chose the dress that jongho had bought her for their 6 month anniversary last month. she quickly stared at the mirror by the door, making last minute adjustments to her dress and hair before making her way outside to her car.
i typed in the address on google maps, immediately leaving the drive as i was probably gonna be late at this point. it was already 6:55 and it would take me at least 15 minutes to get there. i sighed and continued driving, humming along to the song that was playing on the radio.
as y/n saw the restaurant she quickly got out of her car, walking up the stairs to the restaurant as fast as she could in her heels.
"hi! i'm here for choi jongho, he is here right?" y/n said, a little out of breath
"yep! he is right over there on table 4" the waiter said, pointing to a table at the far end of the restaurant.
"okay thank you so much" y/n said before abruptly walking away
"look who decided to show up!" wooyoung said, crossing his arms at y/n
"we thought you weren't coming!" seonghwa said, staring at y/n
"guys it's not my fault i had to shower and redo my hair... make up... pick an outfit... it's really time consuming!" she replied, taking a seat in between jongho and hongjoong
"i think you should pay to make up for it..." san said, smirking at her
"you think i get paid enough to do that?"
"well you have enough to pay for make up and handbags out of nowhere" san replied, causing wooyoung to gasp
"shut up" y/n said, shaking her head
"okay guys can we just eat the food now?" jongho said awkwardly, as y/n and san death stared eachother
