"What happened?" I ask again once we're inside.

"Thornton sent us to clean out a bunker. Extra secret, controlled by Akava's boys. You remember him, tall dark hair, thick accent? I never met him but I heard about how you and Dilan brought him in. Anyway they had a bunker in a south american jungle. We touched down and got in, but they were ready, they knew we were coming." Carlee explains.

"Who told them?!"

"We don't know. They caught us coming around a corner. It was an ambush. We couldnt get away fast enough. By the time we got back around the cormer the blast door had closed. We couldn't get back through. So we cleared the hallway. It went pretty well until Dilan and Geoffrey got separated. They turned a corner and someone threw a grenade. They dove one way and Percey and I dove the other. The blast door closed and we were split up." She stops to breathe.

Continueing, "They went down their hallway and foumd the control center. Opened all the doors in the building. We met up at the Boat, the guys we met between us were pushovers. When we dusted off though Dilan already had a bullet in his arm. As we flew a large plane looking thing came after us. Geoffrey hopped in the turret and started shooting it, but it shrugged off everything we hit it with. Eventually we saw that it was a large robotic thing. It shot back and took out our gun. Geoffrey was burned pretty bad but we got him out pretty quickly. We went down somewhere in the jungle and Dustin put out the SOS. Percey grabbed her gun and took some shots at the thing but it didn't work. So she grabbed your sword and went out to get it. It wasn't ready and she got a good hit on it. Its gun went out and it started smashing at her. After a fight she finally got it. But as it fell it took her whole leg with it." Shes shaken but not terribly.

"The whole leg? Is it bad?" I ask dumbfounded.

"Of course it's bad you idiot! She's got no leg below the knee!" Carlee yells back.

"Well I want to talk to her as soon as possible. For now get some rest. You need it."

"Right right. Im going to go relax or something." Carlee says with a deep breath.

She walks away. Ten feet down the hallway she slumps against the wall. I run over to her.

"Hey? What's up? You okay?" I ask.

"No. I've just seen my best friend lose a leg and I almost did too. But I can handle it. Don't worry. I just need to calm down a bit." She answers.

"Don't try to sell me that. I've plenty of people in situations like you. They rarely ever handle it." I stop her.

"Its nothing you need to worry about." She insists.

"Nonsense. You'rey teammate, and my friend. You can talk to me about anything. Any help you need I'll do my best. What's up?" I ask again.

We spend the next hour or so talking, and eventually Lamarr himself shows up. We go down to sick bay and find the rest of the crew. It's a long night.
