A warm fire was blazing in the hearth at Elliot's house when I arrived. The coziness was such a contrast from the frigid air outside that when she took me into her arms, even more warmth coursed through my veins. She kissed me then, short and sweet, and invited me into the living room.
Slipping off my jacket, only more heat spiked inside me as though removing layers opened me for more exposure. I followed behind Elliot and sat on the plush couch beside her.
"Movie?" she asked.
"Sure," I said. "Dealer's choice."
"Ha. Amature mistake." She snatched the remote and flipped on the TV. "Prepare yourself. I've already watched this three times since being home, and I've got it memorized."
The opening of A Christmas Story played on the screen. Elliot slowly molded into me, leaning her head against my shoulder. Her hair spilled over and tickled my hand, which I slowly lifted to bring her even closer. Every subtle movement she made caused her scent to float upwards, and – against the backdrop of the crackling fire – I was entranced by this and the feel of her against me.
Fifteen minutes passed since the movie started – maybe longer. The concept of time held little importance with Elliot so close beside me. My chest pounded erratically, and my skin buzzed. We had been alone before, but this felt different. It felt like uncharted territory, and I was having a hard time focusing on anything else but her body touching mine.
Elliot's fingers started to graze over my leg. Up and down, they went – short, subtle movements at first, eventually evolving into a route that traveled over the rim of my jeans and to my stomach. The pathways in which her fingers grazed were on fire. I was on fire, and I felt something inside of me take control.
I dropped my head and found Elliot's big, brown eyes. My breath was lost. Somehow finding it again, I plunged my mouth to hers – breath entirely gone now – kissing her intensely, rhythmically, passionately, and the fire inside engulfed everything I was. Shifting sideways, my hands fell over Elliot. They roamed over her like they had never before touched her, and when they found her face, Elliot released a small moan and was suddenly on top of me.
My hands continued scouring her. They shook uncontrollably, but the movement felt so natural as they smoothed over Elliot's body. Her weight felt good on top of me, and it pressed me deeper into the couch. It felt like we fit, with her powerful kisses making me feel as though we would soon be swallowed inside one another. My entire body hummed, and as I brought one hand upwards from Elliot's neck to comb through her hair, she moaned again and kissed me deeper.
Any control I had was gone, and it felt so good. She felt so good.
"We should go upstairs," she panted, eyes closed.
I gasped for air. "Okay."
Leaping off of my trembling body and tugging on my hand, we scurried up the staircase and into Elliot's bedroom. She said her dad and Sarah would be out until at least midnight, as they were attending a concert an hour away in the city. I glanced at her alarm clock when we entered her room. Based on that calculation, we had three hours to share uninterrupted. I was equal parts excited and nervous.
We both stood frozen beside her bed. The lights were off, the warmth from the roaring fire was gone, but it wasn't missed; I was still electrified – heat roamed through me. Gently, Elliot brushed a hand against my face and eased into me, her frame connecting with mine perfectly.
Her mouth swept against my jaw before she pressed her lips into mine. This kiss was different, it was slow. Whereas the ones before were like a jolt to my system, this one worked its way steadily from my mouth all the way down, like water slowly moving across the pavement. Each time our mouths moved together, a new part of me felt the sensation.
