Chris walks down a couple of hallways until he reaches his locker. He puts in his combination as a girl walks over to him with a smile.
"Hey, you."
Chirs opens his locker and turns to face his girlfriend, Carlie. He smiles.
"Hey." He says before quickly kissing her, "Where's Ange?"
"Right here." Angelo says, walking up to them, "What's up?"
"Not much. I'm bored with life, but what else is new?" Chris asks.
"My morning wasn't off to the best start either." Carlie says.
"Why not?" Chris asks as he grabs his books from his locker.
"My parents were talking about that school shooting in North Carolina this morning. Hearing about a bunch of kids getting murdered isn't how I want to start my morning." Carlie says.
"It's on the news every morning. I mean I get that it was a horrible thing that happened and all, but isn't it time for them to move on to some other scandal?" Angelo asks.
"I dunno, but the better move on soon. I'm tired of hearing about it every morning when I walk downstairs." Chris says, shutting his locker.
"Well, I need to head to the locker room and change for gym, but I just wanted to stop by and say 'hi'. See you guys later?" Carlie asks.
"Yeah." Chris says before quickly kssing her. Carlie smiles.
"Bye babe. Later Ange."
"See ya." Angelo says before Carlie walks off.
For the most part, it was just Chris, Carlie, and Angleo with some of their other friends once in a while. They all got along well, and they all had fun together. And for a while, that was what life was like for Chris...Until today, that is.

At the end of the day, the three of them met up again, ready to leave.
"Are we walking home?" Angelo asks.
"Walk? In the sun?" Chris asks.
"You walked this morning." Carlie points out, "Besides, would you rather take the bus and be chased home?"
She had a point.
"Oh, fine." Chris huffs, "I will have car soon. I just need to be good at my job for a little while longer."
Angelo had only just started saving up for a car, and Carlie had failed her last driving test. Chris was the closest one to getting a car out of the three of them.
They walk out of the school and walk through the small crowd of people waiting for their parents or for the bus. Soon though, the three of them get on the sidewalk and are left to themselves. They begin walking in the direction of Chris' house.
"You guys wanna just drop your stuff off at my place and go to Sheetz?" Chris asks.
They all agree and continue on.
"Well at least it isn't too hot. It's actually pretty nice." Carlie states.
"Yeah, it's fine now. I need a car by summer though. I want to be able to travel with air conditioning." Chris says.
"And with a good stereo. Hello?" Angelo points out.
Chris chuckles, "That too. We'll blast Slipknot to the high heavens and annoy everyone within a five mile radius. It'll be fantastic. I just need to keep this job up a while longer, then get a new job after I get the car to pay for gas and shit."
