Meagan is looking at me from across the table in pure shock

"He's MAKING you work with her? I don't even know what y'all issue is with each other but damn y'all Chief is full of it"

"I know I know! And did I mention he's threatening to fire me if I refuse to take this case"

"Like hell he will! If he fires you, I want you to sue his ass and have me as your lawyer"

"Meagan, no need for all of that. I'm gonna take the case, but if that bitch gets the smallest ounce of disrespectful with me, I'ma show her ass"

*Meagan laughing*
"Now Nicki, what can your small ass do?"

"Meagan fuck you, I have to get back to work. Pay for my meal and I'll pay you back the next time we go out"

"I-"

"Bye babes, love you"

Orlando Police Station
1:00 p.m.

I barge into my Chief's office and slammed the papers on his desk.

"You know I would do anything for my job and I wouldn't let that woman stop me from doing it. With that being said, I'll take the case. The minute she gets disrespectful, she's getting her ass beat"

"I knew you'd come through with it. I give the both of you two weeks to complete the case. Now get out of my office Detective"

After giving the Chief my decision, I went over to Knowles office to inform her that we would indeed be working together. I knocked on the door and she told me to come in. When I entered, we locked eyes. Man this woman is dangerously attractive but her damn attitude ruins everything. The things I would do to he-

"Detective Maraj, may I ask why you're staring at me?"

"Staring at you would be exaggerating. But I am in here to let you know that I've accepted the case and we have two weeks to solve it"

"I'm glad you've put our differences aside midg-"

"Don't you dare. Stop being silly and get to work."

"Whatever you say"

I left her office with a bit of anger. Man she knows how to get under my skin. I went back into my office and started to look through the case a little more. I pulled up our suspects and started pinning them on my bulletin board.

"Okay so I think I'll go after him first, he seems easy. How will I approach him is the quest-"

"Hey Maraj. Sorry to barge in but I got our first move"

"Jesus christ Knowles, learn how to knock."

"My bad, come look at this"

We go into her office and man this girl knows how to work. She starts showing me her list of her "easiest" suspects and we had a pretty similar list. I don't know why but she seemed easy to work with. Who knows, she may get over the grudge that she has with me. She tells me her plan and I can't believe i agree. This girl is brilliant! Will I tell her that? Never. She's already a cocky son of a bi-

"MARAJ!"

I jumped at how loud her voice got

"Can you stop daydreaming and tell me if you agree?"

"My bad, yes I like your plan. Our plans are similar."

"But mine was better"

"Girl I ain't say all that. When do you wanna go after our first suspect?"

"You didn't have to say it, I know mine was better. But more importantly, I think we should go after him tonight. Let's do a little interrogating at his place"

This bitch think she's so funny. This why I didn't wanna tell her that I liked her plan, she gets too big headed.

"Um sure, what time?"

"Well we get off at 6:00, so let's go over to his house at mhmmm how about 8:00?"

"9:00 would be better"

"And why do you think that?"

"Because as the better detective, I read in the case file that people usually see him at his place around 9:30-10:00, Knowles how did you miss that"

"Why would you ask me what time then?"

"Just wanted to see if you were actually dumb or just played dumb"

When I said that, she nearly jumped at me. It's crazy how she can throw jabs at me but when I throw them back, she wants to get all mad.

"Maraj, for you to be so small you are so bold! Get out of my office before I-"

"Before you what? Exactly, see you at 9:00"

I left her office after saying that. We had about 4 more hours until we got off of work so during that time, I worked on the case more. I wrote down some questions that I most likely wouldn't use. I love doing at home interrogations. Yeah they put me in danger but I know how to defend myself, believe it or not. I've been working for about two hours know so I decided to give myself a break. I pull my phone out and go to Instagram to check out Knowles page. Why must she be so attractive! I wonder if she likes girls. I click on a picture of what seems to be her and her best friend. Wait a minute, I know her. I didn't know she was friends with Knowles. Man, I'll take the both of them at once. I then clicked on her friends page to lurk. I see that she works at the same law firm as Meagan, that's exactly where I know her from! After doing a bit more lurking, I grew tired of doing that and decided to get back to work. I hope this little interrogation with Knowles goes well, my career and life is on the line.

"FINALLY"

I say as I see that it is 6:00. I left my office and the station and drove home.

"It feels so good to be home"

As I entered my condo. Life as the best detective in Orange County has done me some good. Nice clothes, nice place, nice car. Everything I have is nice and i'm so grateful for it. I decided to take a quick shower so that I can get an hour nap in.
