I didn't do her a campaign for student model. It was auto.

The sign showed up whenever she strolled on campus. Or in the corridors on her way to her locker. She had everyone's eyes on her.

And it made me smile in my heart.

Yo treasure man.

"Ethan."

I froze.

She smiled. "Emilia." I flashed her a toothy grin.

"I'm going home."

I knew what that meant.

"Okay. I'll give you a ride then."

"Sure."

The ride to her apartment was awkward. It was never like that.

In the corner of my eye, she was using her phone.
I didn't even affect her the way she did me. Holy fork of the Duke.

I cleared my throat.

"Emily."

"Yeah?" She didn't look up.

"There's an event this night. A ball. Lucas's celebrating his birthday and his parents are throwing him a ball. And it's mainly for the team. Mind if I bring you along?"

"But I'm no member of the team, Ethan."

"I'm allowed to bring you."

"I'm not your girlfriend, too." She chortled.

My heart raced fast in my chest. I knew she was going to turn me down again. So I dropped it.

She spoke some minutes after, dropping her phone in her bag.

"I'm coming then."

I grinned like a schoolboy. "That's my Emily."

"Oh shut up, will you?"

"Oh my God. Help! I'm being kidnapped! Help!"

It didn't seem funny to her. Poor me.

"Funny enough."

She started laughing while I grimaced.

We pulled up in front of her apartment. And she ran in to quickly shut the door, leaving me banging at the door and laughing.

"If you don't open this door you're in danger."

"I prefer being in danger, cowboy." She laughed behind the door.

"Okay, okay. I'm leaving then."

"Yeah, yeah. Bye."

I stood by the door. For about 2 mins.

"Ethan?"

I didn't respond.

"Ethan?" She called out again, opening the door this time.

She screamed when I jumped in front of her. "Got ya."

She didn't stop screaming even as I carried her in her apartment bridal style.

"I'll put you down when you stop screaming."

She laughed and calmed down eventually. "Okay. Can I get down now?"

"No."

"Jesus." She laughed again, pinching me very hard on my arm.

"Ouch. Sorry, Miss, that won't move me."

"Ethan," she pouted, "come on."

"On condition that you apologize for locking me out."

"Forget it."
