Months after everything happened Jordan was still in a funk. Seeing Henry helped although she knew deep down she needed to do better for him. Jordan was getting her things ready to get a shower when her phone rang. "If this is Kevin again I'm going to choke him." She muttered. A name that she hasn't talked to in seemed like forever came across her phone. It made her heart sink. "Hello." Jordan greeted as she answered the phone. The person on the other end of the phone and her chatted for a few minutes before the call ended. Jordan walked to her door and opened it. "Hey Jordan." A woman greeted. "Hey Isabella. It's been a while. Come in."

Jordan hadn't seen Isabella since the funerals of the fallen marines. It was the last time she seen anyone since her last tour. "Elena told me what happened to you. I'm so sorry that you went through that." Isabella said. "Thanks." Jordan replied. There was moments of awkward silence before Isabella spoke again. "Jordan, I know that's not the only thing eating at you. I been dreading this day too. Actually this whole month." Jordan got up from the table and walked to the sink. "Hey, it's not your fault. You did what you could. I'm so thankful for you being there for Carlos til the end." Isabella continued. A little laughed came out of Jordan'a mouth. "He would probably kick my ass if he saw me now." Jordan came back to the table. "I can't get that day out of my head. I go over and over every move we made..."
"Jordan, please find someone to talk to" Isabella pleaded.

Isabella finally left and Jordan got her shower. She cleaned up the house before calling Elena to bring Henry over. She let the dogs out and gave them a bath. An hour later Elena arrived with Henry about the same time Kevin came. Elena and Kevin took turns having Henry until Jordan was better. "Did you clean?" Kevin asked Elena. "No, it was clean when I got here." She replied. They both looked at Jordan who was playing with Henry. Jordan could feel them looking at her, without looking away from Henry she replied, "yes I cleaned." Kevin and Elena both seemed surprised.

Later that night Kevin and Jordan was in bed watching tv. "I had a visitor today." Jordan said. "Oh yeah?" Jordan begin telling Kevin about Isabella of course being Jordan she didn't tell him about the anniversary of the death of her friends. "You know I never asked, but has my dad said anything to you about us?" Jordan asked jumping off the subject of Isabella. "No, which is surprising." Kevin laughed. "That is surprising. Hey how about we invite some people over for dinner." Kevin agreed.  Kevin wondered just what Isabella told Jordan. Jordan was different from when he left her but she still seemed on edge and shut off. Truth was Jordan put on a good front when she wanted to.

A week later Jordan stood outside Chicago Med. She contemplated on leaving. Every fiber in her said to forget the reason she was there. Jordan hated talking about her feelings she would rather keep every bottled up. "Just go in. It's not that hard." Jordan encouraged herself. Unbeknownst to Jordan not far away Dr. Charles was watching her. He stood there from a safe distant observing her body language.

Alaska whined and nudge Jordan's leg with her nose. "It's okay. I'm fine. I'm going." Jordan knelt down giving Alaska a good rub. They stood there a few more minutes before Jordan decided not to go. She loaded Alaska in the car and went back home.

Once she got home she shot Elena a text to bring over Henry. He was growing up so fast. The little sprout would soon be one and Jordan couldn't help but think of the moments she is cheating herself out of. Everyone was helpful with him. Jordan couldn't help but be grateful.

Before Elena arrived with Henry, Jordan made sure the place was clean. She let the dogs roam in the backyard for a while. She lit some candles to make it feel "homey" as Elena would put it.

"Wow! It smells so good!" Elena beamed as she walked in the door with Henry. Jordan smiled and grabbed Henry from her. "I know huh?" They walked over to the couch and sat down.

"Elena I can't thank you enough for all that you have done for me and Henry. I just don't know what I would do without you."

"You don't have to thank me. That's what I'm here for Jordan. I'm your friend. Probably you're only friend." She grinned. I couldn't help but laugh. "Kevin is my friend." I shot back. "Correction ma'am he is your boyfriend. You can't replace me."
"Would I ever?"

Elena, Jordan, and Henry sat in the floor playing with his toys. Jordan would sneak kisses here and there. She took in his baby smell. Out of all the bad that could have went wrong in Jordan's life, Henry was definitely the best thing to come in her life. After a while Henry took his nap and Elena left but made a promise to come back tomorrow after her date with Tommy.

Jordan sat on the couch and turned on the tv. She flipped through the channels before she decided what to watch. The thought of going back to Chicago Med crossed her mind. She couldn't remember who had told her about Dr. Charles but apparently he was the best to talk to. Pushing the thought of out her mind she got up and took a shower while Henry was still asleep then once she was out she would figure out dinner.

While cooking dinner Jordan remembered Isabella showing her how to cook the best lasagna. She reminisced about the times she would get together with their families. It seems like a lifetime ago.
