The diamond formation of heroes look to each other. Steve nods... just as Thor charges Thanos. All four Avengers attack- using their skills in concert. Thanos stumbles on his heels. The heroes punish him, relentless. Tony glares right as Thor smashes his weapons together, hurling lightning into the back of the iron man suits. Tony sends the resulting overload at Thanos... but he Thanos-copters his blade; holding back the blast. The sharp end of y/n's shield smacks against the back of the Titan's head before returning to it's owner.
y/n: For the record this is exactly how I thought meeting my girlfriend's dad would play out.
Thanos runs full speed at y/n.
y/n: Oh god!
Thor uses Stormbreaker to bat Mjolnir at Thanos, but he snatches y/n by the ankle and uses him as a shield against the oncoming hammer.
y/n: Why...
Mjolnir ploughs into the dirt, Thanos throws y/n into Tony- the two Avenger's heads smashing together. Tony goes tumbling, out cold.
F.R.I.D.A.Y.: Boss? Wake up!
Steve slashes at Thanos, dual wielding both his and y/n's shields. The Titan brutally bats him aside. Thor attacks, but Thanos drives him through walls of debris. Thanos smashes his fist into Thor's face repeatedly. Thor calls for Stormbreaker, but Thanos intercepts it. He presses the blade into Thor's chest, trying to drive it home, it pierces the armour like hot butter as the god barely manages to hold it back from piercing his flesh. Then, across the field... Mjolnir rises into the air. Thanos grins, about to finish Thor off, when Mjolnir flies in- knocking the axe out of his hands. The hammer flies through the air as it returns to the only other man on the field worthy enough to carry it- STEVE ROGERS. Half-conscious, Thor sees Steve holding Mjolnir.
Thor: I... knew... it...
y/n: HOLY SHIT!
Steve attacks, cracking Thanos in the jaw. The mad Titan tumbles. Before he can get up. Steve calls down lightning and sends it crackling into Thanos' body. Steve leaps, trying to finish Thanos off, but Thanos rolls aside, head butting Steve backwards. The alien gets to his feet, a faint smile on his face. He whips off his helmet and attacks Steve with his blade. Blow after blow. It's all Steve can do to get his shield up. Thanos hacks the shield to pieces, finally knocking Steve across the field, he lands next to his son. Steve lies beaten, half a shield still attached to his arm.
Thanos: In all my years of conquest...
Thanos looks out at the tiny human struggling to stand.
Thanos: Of slaughter... it was never personal.
Thanos gestures behind him as A rumble echoes.
Thousands of aliens ring the lip of the crater, Chitauri and Outriders alike. The Black Order leads a platoon of Chitauri, Sakaarans, and outriders.
Thanos: But I'll tell you now, the things I'm about to do to your stubborn, annoying, little planet...

Thanos: I'm going to enjoy it. Very, very much.
Steve stares at Thanos and his army. And even in the face of such overwhelming odds...he gets to his feet, and helps his son up.
Thanos stares, almost sad, as Steve tightens the broken shield on his arm... and starts walking towards him. y/n calls his shield to him and follows suit. Two men against thousands. All alone.
But just then, Steve's com crackles. He strains to hear. The com crackles again. We can make out a muffled voice.
