"Jake, tama ba... ito..?"

"Ah, you should do it this way..."

"Then use this formula instead.."

Jake's eyes never left the lass
as she continues to try solving
her part from their activity.

"Ganito?"

"Wait, tama ba?"

"Yup,"

"Nakakalito."

"Wait what if ito naman ang
mawala? Same formula din?"

"Different formula,"

"Ganito..."

Jake grabbed a piece of paper and
a pen, he wrote a sample problem
he found on the internet and solves
it slowly.

"Nagets mo?" He gently asked
gazing to the girl who's eyes
are darted to the paper.

"Parang?"
She answered,

"Try solving this one."

Jake writes a sample problem.

Patricia tries to answer the
problem, palipat lipat ang tingin
sa papel na sinagutan ni Jake
para masigurong tama ang ginagawa nya.

"Mhmm,"

Corrects a part from
Patricia's solution.

"Hala, Oo nga! Sayang,"

"You can try this again"

Jake writes another sample
problem which Patricia gladly
tried to answer.

"Tama na...?"

Medyo nangaalinlangang tanong
ni Patricia bago, palipat lipat ang
tingin kay Jake at sa papel na
sinagutan nya.

He looks at her smiling,

"Tama?"

"Tama."

"Very good."

"Paano kung ito naman ang
nawawala? What should you do?"

"Mhmm.."

"Hahanapin muna to using yung
formula sa number 1 sa activity natin
tas..."

"Tas ito namang formula na to
para sa final answer?"

"Paano kapag ito naman ang
hinihingi sa problem?"

"Anong gagawin mo?"

Jake's question made Patricia
stop from moving. With her confused
look she turned her gaze to the boy
who's smiling at her.

"Ganito,"

Jake solves the problem, occasionally
checking if Patricia was able to follow.

"Grabe ang talino mo..."
She muttered under her breath.
It flustered the lad, he pursed
his lips, and succeeded from stopping
himself to smile just before Patricia
turned her head at his direction.

"Pwede ko ba iuwi itong mga scratch
natin hehehe.."

"Pang review ko sana.."

"Sure"

"Last,"

"Try solving this problem."

Patricia scanned the paper as she
attempt to solve a difficult problem
given by Jake .

She was a bit skeptical and shy to
allow Jake to check her answer
but when he pronounce her answer
as right, she clapped her hands
and immediately highfived him,
while both of them smiled proudly.

"Di ko inexpect na tama yon!"
She said enthusiastically.

He showed her a thumbs up,
"You did great, good job!"

"Syempre magaling yung
nagturo!"

Natawa naman si Jake at umiling.
He unconsciously ruffled her hair, which
left the girl beside him blushing,
her heart fluttering and regardless of what
pushed Patricia to not say a single word
and rather returned him another smile,
as they exchanged stares,

Biglang nahiya si Patricia...

"T-teka anong o-oras na ba? Hehe"

She asked and rummage her bag,
to find her phone just to avoid another
contact.

"Kailangan k-ko na atang umuwi..."

"Hatid na kita,"

"Ha?!"

"Hindi! Hindi! 'Wag na!
Nakakahiya!"

She panicked.

"I insist"

"And I was the one who brought
you here, so it's my responsibility
to return you home safe."

Patricia badly wanted to decline
Jake's offer but his persistence
plus her mom's message, right on time, reminding how she should just asked someone to
drive her home which Jake saw, since
it's already late, made her break her
words once again.

"Mhmm?"

She sighed. She had no choice.

'Ma, hindi naman kasi laging sila Aki
kasama ko huhu nakakahiya...' she
complained to herself, but still sent an
'opo' as a reply to her mother.

"Tara?"

"Tara."
