THREE !!

it was a 7:10 start in the trop, bobby was ready to be on the field even though the night before was a little hectic from the rain delay's, it threw him off a bit but he managed to get through it. the guys were warming up on the field an hour before the game, photographers were everywhere as well as media, for some reason bobby felt anxious, so he stepped down into the dugout and into the clubhouse, he looked around the locker rooms searching for tae, knowing she'd be somewhere around there. as soon as he saw the girl round the corner, he hugged her immediately, she tried not to drop her drink as she hugged him back, "hey there, you okay?" she asked the boy who had still been hugging her. "media is everywhere. absolutely.. everywhere." he breathed out, she stepped back and looked at him, "overwhelming today?" she asked and he nodded, she sadly smiled and hugged him once again. "it'll be okay, even if these games might not go the way we want. it'll end up okay, i promise." she said softly and he slightly nodded, "i thought we had it this year." he said sadly which made tae frown, "theres still a hand full amount of games left, we have the second wild card spot, it'll be okay" she said with a smile, he nodded and stood up straight, "now go finish working out, ill be here or in the dugout if you need anything" tae said as she walked to a separate locker room and put her stuff down and changed into black shorts and a tank top with a red sox zip up sweatshirt over it. she grabbed her camera and walked up into the dugout and set the camera down on the bench and took a look around, once she spotted her old friend, tyler glasnow, she ran over to him and hugged him. "BABY GIRAFFE!!" she yelled and he laughed, hugging her back, bobby spotted them and made a face, he then turned away frustrated, tae and tyler talked for awhile until it was time for the game to start.

"good luck tonight, you got this" tae said as she gave bobby a pregame hug, he hugged back very lazily, which made tae tug him back before he could fully walk away. "hey, whats going on?" she asked, he didn't look her in the eye and just shrugged his shoulders, she stood with her hands on her hips. "bobby." she spoke with a serious tone, he looked at her, "i saw you with tyler.. i don't know i guess i just didn't like it." he said, annoyed and hurt, she began to chuckle. "are you jealous... of.... tyler glasnow!?" she asked with a laugh, he shook his head and turned away, tae grabbed his hands and pulled him towards her. "don't walk away from me, im just kidding. bob, i don't like him like that, why does it matter anyways?" she asked, his face turned slightly pink and he scratched the back of his neck with his free hand, "uh... i..., ummmm.... something" he said nervously, tae snorted and leaned her forehead against his chest, "you're confusing. anyways-" she was cut off by cora yelling bobby's name, "shit, i have to go, ill tell you after the game when we can talk in private" he said to her, tae nodded and followed him to the dugout, she grabbed one of xander's red sox baseball hoodies and put that on instead of the zip up, just so she'd look more like she belonged with the team and not some random fan, cora saw her and smiled then gestured for her to go sit with him. "hey kid, you doing okay?" he asked, tae nodded with a smile on her face, cora was always like a second dad to her, she respected him but when he didn't put bobby in lineups that he was obviously meant to be in, she got mad at him but never showed it enough that he would see. "yeah, im okay, how are you?" tae asked, "im alright, just hoping for a win tonight, i hope.." he said with a sigh, rubbing his temples, tae adjusted herself in the seat next to the manager himself. "they've got it. if not, team talks are going to need to happen more, im serious, last time it worked and they didn't do it today" she explained to him and he nodded, "definitely, i can't believe you're just a photographer. hear me out, ill make you a position, JUST for you, which means you can help out on anything i ask you to, sound good?" he asked, tae sat there staring at him then nodded. "yes oh my god yes, what will the position be called" she asked him and he tapped his chin thinking, "assistant manager?" he said and she smiled, "i love it!" she said with a chuckle, cora laughed and patted her back. "we're lucky to have you here, plus.. you've helped bobby, he's changed so much.. in a good way obviously" alex said to her, she blushed slightly and smiled, "i guess i have" she said softly, which cora was able to hear and he knew it from the beginning. "you two a thing yet?" he asked and she blushed more, "n...no" she said quietly and he laughed. "sorry, you two just seem perfect for each other" he said, she nodded and sank into her seat, "i love him..." she mumbled, cora looked at her wide eyed, her eyes widened then she jumped out of her chair and ran to the other end of the dugout, cora laughed his ass off in his seat and shook his head. tae sat down next to chris , she let out a deep sigh and hung her head low, she nicknamed him stick man, he was like that friend-dad figure, he accepted that he was the 'dad' figure to most guys on the team, and girl. "you alright, bean?" chris asked the slumped girl, she shook her head then pulled her hood up and leaned her head against his arm, "im exhausted and stressed" she said to him, he nodded and patted her back, "whats on your mind?" he asked her and she sat up and slightly leaned forward. "im in love.... with bobby. like in LOVE. i don't know how to tell him, i don't want to get rejected and feel like a complete idiot for falling in love with my best friend, or have him turn out to be a jerk once we date." she said as she held her head in her hands, chris put a hand on her back and smiled, "oh bean, he's in love with you too, i know cause he's told me but i also see the way he looks at you, we all do. the girl before you was a bitch, he treated her like how a man should treat a woman, with respect, love, and kindness, but she never returned that to him. she used him for money, fame, and a lot more, i know he wont treat you like shit, but if he ever did, i'd kill him with my bare hands, so would jarren. but trust me, he wouldn't, the love in his eyes when he looks at you tells me" he explained to her, tae sat there in shock but with a smile on her face, chris just laughed and patted her back, "talk to him after the game, trust me." he said to her and she nodded then got up and grabbed some water.

the top of the sixth came around and bobby flew out to manuel margot, he walked back to the dugout, obviously mad, even though he hit a home run in the top of the second, he didn't like the way he continued to play, he wanted to carry the team and score more runs, but no one else put enough effort into it. tae was sitting on the bench with plaw once bobby walked back down, plaw scooted away a bit, making room for bobby in the middle of them, he shoved his helmet and bat away and then sat in between the two, he let out a deep sigh then rested his head on tae's shoulder, "i'm tired of this. why cant they just try harder." he mumbled, tae frowned and took his hand and held it, "i don't know. but i know they're trying their best, it'll be okay." she said softly and he nodded.

tae watched bobby stand on the steps of the dugout, talking to cora, he was in the hole, waiting patiently until the inning ended and he had to go on first, he grabbed his glove and hat then went onto the base. tae hung out on the bench, waiting for the game to end, the nineth went pretty shitty, bobby walked then vazqy grounded out into a double play. bobby walked into the dugout and straight down into the clubhouse without saying a word to anyone, cora patted his back on the way down, but bobby didn't have any reaction. tae walked down and grabbed her stuff and waited outside the ballpark for bobby, the guys got out of their sweaty uniforms and stuff then headed out, once bobby came out the door, tae walked over and linked arms with him, he looked up from his feet to look at her, and smiled softly. "you alright?" she asked, he nodded as they walked to the hotel they were staying at, jarren walked behind them with his airpods in, talking to his girlfriend on facetime. "tomorrow night will be better" tae said then went up on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek, before she could, he turned his head to look at her and her lips ended up on his. after a few seconds she pulled away and flipped out, "THATS NOT- I- WE- FFUUUUCK" she squealed, bobby stood there in shock. "do you... uh... regret it?" he asked quietly, jarren walked into bobby and fell on his ass, "WHY DID YOU STOP WALKING?!?" jarren yelled as he stood up and pushed the two so they'd walk again. "no. i don't regret it" tae whispered to bobby, he smiled and laughed softly, jarren looked at them confused, but shrugged it off.

once they got back to the hotel, jarren crashed on his bed then tae and bobby laid down on the one they were sharing. "so, tell me what you were saying before you got pulled into the dugout today" tae said as she looked at bobby, he smiled and just pulled her in his arms and kissed her forehead, "just.... i... i love you. not like a friend or a best friend, like a girlfriend, like someone i want to stay in my life. because you treat me better than anyone ever has, i love you, tae." he confessed which made her smile like an idiot, "i love you too. i may or may not have told chris that i did, he noticed how miserable i was so i kinda just confessed." she said and bobby laughed, "i noticed you were stressed by the way you two were talking" he said and she nodded, "i had to talk about it before i blew up" she giggled. "well, now you actually confessed to me so everything is better, and well, here's the real question. would you like to be my girlfriend?" bobby asked as he looked her in the eyes, a smile tugged at her lips and she nodded. "of course" was her answer, he smiled and held her close to him, "good." he said quietly as he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep, and a few minutes later, tae did too.
