It was a chilly day in December, and I had decided to take Thor to a movie. He had never been to a movie theater before, so I figured it'd be a nice surprise for him. And I was right; as I pulled my car into the parking lot, a grin exploded on his face.
"Anne, you have brought me to the theater!" He stated happily.
"Yep! I figured we could watch one of the new holiday movies." I told him, climbing out into the chilly night. Thor followed suit and moved around the car to take my hand in his. Slowly, he lifted my hand to his lips and gave the back of it a gentle kiss.
"My darling, you spoil me."
I smiled happily at him and wrapped my arm around his. "Well, somebody's got to! After all, you're a king, and kings should be spoiled."
He chuckled as we made our way into the theater. "No, kings should spoil their loyal subjects. However, I will not object to a night at the movies with a lovely young lady. In fact, I find it to be rather an honor. Now, what movie are we attempting to enjoy?"
"That, Thor son of Odin, is up to you." I laughed, pulling him to the line so we could see which movies were playing. He grinned down at me, then turned his blue gaze to the screens where the titles were displayed. I hugged his arm happily and couldn't help but smile. It was going to be a good night.
"How can I help you?" The guy at the register asked.
"We want to observe one of your holiday movies. Which one do you recommend, kind sir?" Thor asked.
The guy looked startled, turning his gaze to me. "What's he on?"
"What do you mean?" I objected seriously, glancing up at Thor. "He's not on anything."
"Nobody talks like that." The guy muttered.
"He is sober." I assured him. "He's just from Asgard, that's all. Now, what do you say we watch that new christmas comedy?"
"I do agree. Comedies have always been jovial to watch." Thor nodded.
The guy gave us another weird look, but gave us our tickets, popcorn, and drinks. As we walked away, I started laughing. Thor grinned and shook his head.
"Mortals are so easily confused."
"I do agree." I replied, copying him from earlier and still laughing.
We joked about it until the film started, and then settled in to watch a film that would make us laugh all the way through. It was a great night!
