in some stories—
you can almost predict what will happen—
but that's not the case with my story—
nothing that happened made any amount of sense to me.. the red flags were there
but i didn't listen to them

Ringg

the last school bell almost made me jump out of my skin..
i bit my lip out of nervousness and looked out of the window of the schools second floor
one by one—
group by group—
students got into their cars and began to leave

i sighed and began to gather up my things, that is up until tommy came into the classroom looking for me
" ayup Big D,
big man philza is looking for you in his office " he says as he throws a thumbs up sign at me and quickly leaves the classroom

i shrugged my shoulders and quickly gathered my bags and walked straight to philzas office

knock, knock

i pressed my ear up against the door as i listened for the principal to tell me to come inside
instead.. the door slowly creaks open as i leaned into it

as it slowly opened i could see the room covered in beautiful orange evening sunlight—
and george sitting at the window sill with his leg up, arm resting on his knee and his other leg hung with his other hand in his jacket pocket

"george? where's phil— "

" so where did you go earlier that you had to cancel on me?"
his voice sounded upset

"i-i already told you—
i came to meet philza—"
regardless of whether or not humans can smell fear.. they can for sure hear it
because i heard it in my own voice

george got up and walked over to me, both hands in his pocket
his hooded annoyed eyes sent a shiver down my spine and a huge lump of nervousness formed in my throat

"dream, my dad is in the U.S taking care of business—
he's been gone since yesterday "

badump, badump

"fuck!!" i screamed in my head as george approached me slowly
"i- i knew that, i um—
i meant i was looking for— "

" you're really going to keep lying to me dream?"

badump..

" n-no i just— "

george glares at me for a second, then his expression suddenly changed into a gentle smile
he walks closer to me and looks up at me
" do i need to be worried? "

my heart ached.. my mind instantly went back to when we first started dating
when i asked to borrow his car..

" i was actually going to ask if i could borrow your car?"

"should i be worried?"

" do you WANT to be worried?"

"hmm.. touché taken—
touché"

somehow—
i managed to swallow the lump in my throat—
and with a rasp and quiet voice
i asked him
" do you.. WANT.. to be worried"

silence filled the room for a while, until george raises his hand to my head and gently pats it
stroking my dirty blonde hair with his milky white fingers
" of course i want to be worried.."

badump

" but.. you don't need to explain anything to me right now dream,
it's okay—
go do what you need to do and if you still feel like telling me than i'll listen okay?"

BADUMP

i felt some tears form in my eyes as i remembered those same words when i told him about my condition..

" george?.. about earlier— "

" car "

"huh?, what did you say? "

" you wanted to borrow my car earlier right? here ya go— "

" wait please—
i need to explain! i swear i just— "

" you don't need to explain anything to me right now dream,
it's okay—
go do what you need to do and if you still feel like telling me than i'll listen okay?"

i remember.. he placed a kiss onto my forehead and gave me a smile as he turned and tried to walk back into his room
that time i grabbed his shirt and explained everything that was going on

but this time..
i felt his hand slowly leave the top of my head—
and instead of stopping him from leaving and explaining everything that had happened between me and fundy

i let him walk out that door

leaving me with tears streaming down my face
"why couldn't i just tell him" i sobbed to myself as my back slides down the walls of the room

" i remember this feeling—
it was the feeling of guilt—
the same guilt i felt when seeing sapnap crying for the first time"
