LYC: Karl and Sapnap adopt

Sapnap shuffled uncomfortably in the tiny elevator, while his husband Karl wrung his hands nervously. Dream and George looked at the couple in amusement.

"Relax guys, you'll make great parents," George pointed out as he rubbed Karl's back in a comforting manner.

"And we'll be there to help you along the way," Dream added as he gave Sapnap's shoulder a squeeze.

The raven haired man let out a sigh, "Were you this nervous when adopting Nessa and Beck?"

Dream and George chuckled, "No, we didn't have much time to be nervous since Beck had a knife pointed at us."

This made their friends laugh softly.

"But how will we ever decided, there are tons of children at the academy who deserve a loving home?" Karl asked.

"I say, go with your gut," George replied as the elevator made a soft ding and the doors opened.

The couples walked over to their respective cars, and started the long drive to Stellar academy.

Sapnap stole glances at Karl as he drove, the brunette kept fidgeting nervously in his seat while looking out the window. He reached over to grab his husband's hand and place a soft kiss on it.

"Hey we got this okay," Sapnap said, trying his best to sound calm. The brunette gave him a soft smile, and when they pulled over they shared a gentle kiss.

Their kiss was cut short by George tapping the window with a smug smile.

"Come on guys, I don't want to keep the kids waiting," he said.

The couple stepped out, and hand in hand walked through the gates. They slowly made their way to the field, where they spotted Illumina and Fruitberries watching over a few kids playing,, including Beckerson and Vanessa.

The group started to walk over to them, but they were stopped when an arrow narrowly missed Dream's head.

Techno appeared out of nowhere and started swinging a sword at the blonde. The blonde back flipped to dodged the attack with a smug smile, and landed in front of George.

"Here you go darling," The brunette said with a smile, as he handed his husband an axe from nearby.

"Thanks love," the blonde replied, as he gave George a quick kiss before running forward to attack the pink haired man.

"I don't think that I will ever get use to that," Karl stated as he watched the two exchange blows.

Sapnap and George laughed, "Oh you will eventually, we thought the same thing back when we were students. They constantly butted heads since the day they met, but eventually it turned into a beautiful rivalry." his husband informed.

They continued their way towards Fruit and Illumina, and the two masters gave them a wave when they spotted them.

While the rest of the kids had run off to watch Techno and Dream fight, Beckerson and Vanessa sat on a bench with a girl that had rich auburn hair.

The girl looked to be a few years younger than Beck and Vanessa and bore a blank expression on her face. Nessa was gently braiding the girls hair, while Beck weaved together a flower crown and placed it on the girl's head. The kids continued to try and talk to the new girl, but she stayed silent with her gaze focused on her lap.

The kids seemed rather disappointed that the girl wouldn't talk to them, but intermediately lit up when they saw George.

"Daddy!" they yelled as they ran over and tackled their father in a hug.

The auburn haired girl glanced up to see Beck and Nessa receive quick pecks on their cheek from George, and her eyes darkened in sadness.

"Daddy we made a new friend today, but she won't talk," Beck pointed out as he gestured towards the girl, who returned her gaze to her lap.

Sapnap knew that look, he had once wore that expression when he first arrived at the academy. He probably would still be like that if it wasn't for his very energetic blonde and brunette roommates.

Dream was panting a bit as he and Techno made their way over to the group.

"Done already?" George said as he kissed his husband on the cheek. "Who won?"

Dream smiled victoriously, while Techno huffed. "I demand a rematch," the pink haired man stated.

"In a minute, let me rest up a bit." the blonde replied.

"Awww Darling, you are getting old too quickly if you're already tired after one match." George teased.

Dream wheezed, "You're older than me George." he pointed out.

"But I am still in great shape." the brunette argued back.

Beckerson and Vanessa quickly told Dream about their silent new friend, and the group continued to look at the girl curiously. The two kids then made their way over to the girl ,and tried again to make her smile.

"Poor thing," Illumina said as he and Fruit reached them.

"Her father had acquired a huge debt, and in his troubled state of mind burned their house down, killing himself along with her mother and her two younger siblings." Fruitberries explained in hush tones.

"She managed to escape, but acquired a few burns herself that will definitely leave a scar." Illumina added.

Sapnap's heart went out to the young girl, she's just like me, he thought.

"Dear..." Karl called gently as he tugged on his husband's sleeve.

The two looked at each other and came to a silent agreement, they then made their way over to the girl. After asking Beck and Nessa for a moment alone with the girl, they bent down so that they were at her eye level.

"Hello there," Sapnap greeted gently, and the pair smiled at her warmly.

The girl tensed up and slowly backed away, pulling her bandaged arms closer to her chest.

"Don't be afraid, no one will hurt you here," Karl said with a smile.

Sapnap then rolled up his sleeve a bit to show the girl a burn mark on his upper arm. The girl stared at it with widened eye, then she looked at the pair curiously.

"I went through a similar experience to yours when I was young, but you know what? The scars will slowly fade and so will the pain, all you need are some friends to help you along the way," the raven haired man stated, as he pulled Karl closer to him before glancing back to shoot his friends a smile.

He turned back towards the girl, who now seemed a bit more relaxed as she continued to stare at Sapnap's burn.

"Looks pretty cool huh?" Karl asked, making Sapnap laugh and a small smile appear on the girl's face.

"So would you like to start making a few friends?" Sapnap asked, and the girl gave him a small nod.

Karl then held out his hand and the girl slowly took it as she stood from her seat.

"What's your name sweetie?" Karl asked.

"Mars..." she whispered out.

"Mars, that's a very pretty name." Sapnap complimented, making her lips tug up to form a smile.

"Mars would you like to become part of our family? We promise to take good care of you." Karl asked, the girl thought for a second before nodding.

The two agents wrapped her in a gentle hug, which she reciprocated and buried her face in Sapnap's chest.

The couple looked at each other and smiled, they had definitely made the right choice.
