𝟑𝟎 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥

Demilade was busy going through the files that were submitted to his desk to sign when his phone rang. Most times he turns off his personal phone while at work. Most people call him through his business line while he is at work including his grandmother and mother when they have something important to say to him. But he had forgotten to do that when he came to work that morning. He had other things in mind and he wasn't in the best mood earlier that morning.

And to his greatest surprise, it was Lola calling. She had never called him at work. They had to stick to a kind of invisible rule that they talk only at night when he return from work or on his way from work and sometimes in the morning. Which was becoming quite a habit.

He dropped the folder in his hand and picked up his phone and answered the call.

"Hello." He answered.

"Hi." She replied excitedly on the phone.

Demilade chuckled lightly. Her mood was contagious and he wondered why she was so excited. "Why are you so happy?" He asked.

"Well... that's because you answered my call while at work. It's rare." She said giggling.

"But you never call me when I am at work." He stated amused.

"Well, that's true." She admitted. "I guess it was some kind of rule. And I know you will be busy at work and I don't want to disturb your work."

"I understand. So what's the occasion dear?"

"I just decided to try your number if it will ring," Lola answered.

"Seriously?" Demilade asked, laughing shortly.

"No. I just miss you. I am sitting in a restaurant with people... I mean couples having fun and it reminds me of you. So I decided to give it a chance. At least just to talk to you." She answered truthfully.

"I'm sorry. I know I have been busy for some days now. And I apologize for not being there. I truly am." He apologized sincerely.

"I am not angry and you don't have to apologize. Some things need to come first. How are you going to make money for me to buy clothes and make pretty hair if you don't go to work? Ehn? And a girl needs those things. It is essential. You know what I mean right?" Lola said while Demilade chuckled. He sure loves the girl. She had a way of making things easy and she was very understanding. "Moreover you are so sweet when you want to be."

"Lola, you're one hell of a character." He complimented his girlfriend.

"Yeah for my boo." She replied smiling.

"I guess so." Demilade laughed. "Thank you for understanding."

"It's nothing."

"So are you at home?" He asked.

"No, IB asked me to come with her to get her order and we decided to stop by sweet sensation to eat something. But now she has left me, talking with a guy she just met. And it's been almost an hour now. And surprisingly she is so immense in the conversation. I don't even think she knows that I am still here. And that's why I have been busy noticing all the couples in the restaurant and how sweet they are and... Geez! Oh, I'm so sorry. I'd forgotten you are at work. Are you busy? Hope I am not disturbing you with what you have to do?" She asked with an apologetic tone.

Demilade laughed shortly. He realized he miss his girlfriend so much. He misses her ranting and her cute complaints. 

"If I was very busy, I would have to ask you to call me back." Which was a lie. He was busy but he can't tell her no. Moreover, he wanted to hear her voice. She had lightened his mood. He hasn't been in the best mood since he woke up that morning and especially when he got to work but now listening to her nagging and that sweet voice of hers, had changed something in him. It lifted his spirits and he felt at home just from listening to her. "But it's okay. I've missed your rantings."
