Aether joined Paimon before waving some tempura in front of y/n, "If you don't come with us, yo don't get the tempura~!"

Y/n scowled, "Idiot."

That was how y/n ended up at the Narukami Shrine, nibbling on tempura while a cool fox lady announced that the swirdmaster dude was bit possessed.

Y/n liked her.

Her pink hair looked yummy and y/n wondered if she could pat her head.

Let's call her... Fox Lady.

Y/n wasn't paying attention so she didn't know what elseto call her.

To summarize everything that happened, they had to go to this lady so see if the swordmaster was really possessed since the Shrine maiden that visited couldn't tell.

Y/n, though she tried several times, kept telling them that it was because of the loss of his Vision but the words kept coming out in Hilichurlian.

She eventually stopped trying.

"This is a change in the person himself." the Fox Lady was saying as a ticked off y/n idly slapped Aether's braid around, "Unable to cope with the tremendous pressure he was under, he suffered a spiritual collapse. With his wits impaired, he finally descended into madness."

'Will that happen to me if I lose my Vision?' y/n wondered, worried yet still curious, 'Maybe I should hide it somewhere and wander far away. Just so see what will happen.'

"As one who is thrown into the sea, though he fights back desperately against his predicament, it does nothing to prevent his descent into the depths." the lady continued, "As for what has triggered this change, I believe it must be the loss of his Vision. For to be stripped of one's Vision is to be stripped of one's ambition."

"Stripped of his ambition...?" Junya echoed, "But, Lady Yae, even without his ambition, why should he suffer such a dramatic change? How does that explain his descent into madness?"

"THAT WAS WHAT I WAS TRYING TO SAY EARLIER!" y/n shouted out of nowhere, startling both her travel companions.

"Y/n! Shush!" Aether hissed but was ignored by the ticked off mita-girl.

"The Fox Lady says that when you lose your Vision, you lose your ambition too! The loss of this dude's ambition likely caused his past actions to come back to haunt him since he no longer has anything to protect him from the guilt of what he's done! The worst part is that you can't tell hallucinations to go to hell." y/n snapped, "It's like you punch a baby for a plate of steak and when you don't like steak anymore, you feel like an asshole for punching a baby cause you are a complete asshole! The guilt eats away at your mental stability, believe me."

Paimon gave when a horrified look, "Y/n!? You've punched a baby!?"

"Nye! It's an example!" y/n huffed, "I've blinded a man who had a kid but he was a jerk anyways."

Aether facepalmed himself while everyone else stared at y/n in silence.

The Fox Lady, much to y/n's surprise only smiled, "That seems to sum it up."

Y/n gave Aether a smirk, "See?"

The Fox Lady turned her attention back to Nanako, Junya and the cowering man on the ground. Man, he must be having so bad hallucinations.

"Your school practices Meikyou Shisui Art, does it not? Stillness of mind, freedom from all agitation... what a fine notion that would be, if any in this world could ever hope to achieve it..." the pink haired lady continued, "There was once one who claimed to be indifferent to rank and reward, and who fled enraged when defeated by his junior. And then there was an aged swordmaster who was aggrieved enough that he crossed blades with a disciple he himself had taught."

Y/n blinked then glanced at the man on the ground, '...wow, I'm impressed. You've got some balls to go up against your own teacher, my guy.'

'NOT THE TIME, Y/N!' Aether thought and y/n gave him an alarmed look.

'WHY ARE YOU IN MY THOUGHTS???'

"Lady Yae... I'm not sure I understand..." Nanako said as y/n took a few steps away from Aether, staring at him with wide eyes.

"The path of the swordmaster is filled with twists and turns. It is no small undertaking to pursue the position of greatest swordmaster in the world." The Fox Lady explained, "It requires one to take their sword firmly in both hands and cut down the hopes and dreams of others... even those of one's closest companions."

Yeah, I'm not writing this.

It's too long, no thanks.

"Like y/n said, the loss of his ambition caused him to doubt hinsemf and he slowly descended into the state you see him in now." Fox Lady continued, "Heh... much like a certain fatally flawed friend of mine."

"Fox Lady.... :o" y/n said aloud, happy that someone agreed with her.

"Poor Sensei..." Nanako murmured, "To think he's been suffering so greatly..."

"I'm sorry... It's all my fault..." the man on the ground rambled, "Father, Sensei... Anzai..."

It was setting annoying. Y/n wanted to kick him but if she did, she'd get in trouble.

Maybe she should just leave-

Y/n turned and began marching away to save the sleepy Author's fingers from typing another five hundred words.

"Y/n? Where are you going?" Aether whisper shouted as y/n walked away.

She paused before sprinting instead, making it clear that she was trying to avoid standing still and listening.

Aether and Paimon watched in silence as she disappeared around the corner and listened until they heard a distant splash.

Yeah, she was gonna die.

The water she landed in would zap her.
