Wolvendom was not her home. Though Razor did tell her she was always welcome.
Springvale was not her home.
Home was where her family was.
And her family had been reduced to dust weeks ago to be carried away by the wind.
Therefore, Dragonspine was no longer home. She had no home so she would sleep wherever and whenever she pleased.
The previous night's choice was a tree.
The h/c haired girl's eyes fluttered open when she heard something land on the branch she was sprawled on.
With sleepy eyes, she looked straight at the falcon that was perched on the other end of the branch, staring at her.
She recognized it as the one she had seen Diluc with several times before.
Y/n scowled, "You're judging me, aren't you? Cut it out and go somewhere else."
No reply.
Y/n exhaled through her nose, "So you're just gonna sit there, huh?"
Again, no reply.
"Grr... you'd better not go back to Diluc and snitch on me-!" y/n snapped, pointing at the falcon, "If he ever finds out I had to sleep in a tree, he'll think I'm not capable of taking care of myself."
Y/n's eyes widened, "And if he thinks I can't take care of myself he'll lock me up in my room! Then Kaeya will laugh at me and tease me for it! And I'll have to deal with isolation and that idiot's teasing for the rest of my miserable life-!"
The falcon peered at the girl curiously as she let out a miserable groan.
"Mi muhe mita nye..." y/n mumbled as the falcon stared at her in silence.
"Y/n! Are you talking to a bird?"
"NYE! NYE, I AM NOT!" y/n shouted, sitting up abruptly as the falcon took off.
She looked down and her eyes brightened at the sight of Paimon and Aether, "Olah! Good morning to you two! What do you need?"
"Nothing! Paimon just wanted to check on you to see how you were doing!" Paimon exclaimed as y/n dropped down from the tree, "She didn't expect to find you here of all places..."
Y/n glowered at the pixie, "What? Is it strange for someone to sleep in a tree?"
"Kind of." Aether said with a shrug and ducked away with a laugh when y/n threw a pinecone at him.
"Hmph! Jerks!" y/n scoffed, her arms crossed, "Tell me, what do you want?"
"Well... Paimon and I were about to head to the Adventurers' Guild. We know you aren't one but I think you'd be a pretty good adventurer!" Aether exclaimed.
Y/n raised a brow, "I am."
"Huh?"
"I'm an adventurer."
"Seriously!?" Paimon yelped, "Since when!?"
"About five years." y/n murmured then beamed, "I'm a proud member of Benny's Adventure Team!"
"Benny's Adventure Team?" Paimon echoed, "Paimon's never heard of it."
"Well, a friend of mine put together the team. For a short while, we were the only members. At least until we invited Razor." y/n explained then gave the duo a dark look, "Got a problem with it?"
"Oh no, not at all." Aether said, shaking his head, "I think sleeping in trees is a very Mitachurl thing to do."
"Shut up and let's go." y/n sighed, dragging Aether along back towards Mondstadt.
