A week later
I never thought my life can get any worst. I got to Los Angeles, but getting there I ran out of money. Right now I'm living in my car in a mall parking lot.
I got out of my car that morning and walk into a gas station. The guy at the counter was watching me. So I went into the girl's bathroom with my purse. I grabbed a mini shampoo bottle out of it and I soaked my hair in the sink. Then I washed it the best I can. Then I quickly straighten in with my wet to straight hair straighter. In the matter of this time it has been around 10 minutes. I fixed my make up. At least now I look like I have a home. I walked out and went to the candy section. I grabbed a package of skittles and tic tacs. The guy looked at me weird then ringed me up. I gave him my last 20 and he gave me my change. I walked out and sat on a bench.
"hello." I looked up to see a blonde girl. She was pretty and this must be her mom too.
"Hi." I replied.
"The name is Faith." She said sticking her hand out to me.
"Ricky." I said stuffing my face in my skittles. Then I shook her hand.
"Oh, this is Nicole." Wait, So this isn't your mother?
"Oh, wow. I thought she was your mom; you guys look so much alike. I am sorry." Wow. Just wow.
"Well Nicole is like a mother to me. She runs the runaway home." She told me.
"What's a runaway home?" I asked. This time Nicole answered.
"I opened a house for runaway teenagers who gets kicked out, or was abused, or runs away. They live with me and I help them, I buy them clothing and support a roof over there head. Things there normal parents cannot. So kind of like a Foster home, except all the kids are emancipated."
"Whoa." I said.
"Anyways we really should be going, Faith?" Nicole said. Faiths stared at me.
"Faith? Are you oka-"
"Where did you get that bruise on the side of your face?" she asked me.
"Faith!" Nicole Screamed in shock.
" I, uh... I Tripped and fell and hit a counter."
"Really, or maybe a hand, that's a perfect hand print."
"Here is my number, if you need anything call." Faith handed me walked away.
Wow. I never expected that. I got up and ran to my car. By the time I got there it was dark. I hoped in the back seat and lay down. It started to storm, and I freaked out. I hate storms. I kept staring at Faiths number. I zipped up my hoodie and ran to a phone booth. I dialed her number...
"Hmm...Hello?" A sleepy voice said.
"Faith?"
"Who is this?"
"It's Ricky."
"Oh! Where are you? I am on my way."
"My car is a mustang, it's outside the mall. I'm kind of living in it."
"Be right there."
I ran back to my car and pulled my knees to my head. After 15 minutes I hear a knock at my window. I opened it up to Nicole.
"Hi Hunny, What is wrong?" she asked.
I broke down. I told her everything about my mom and what happen but I kept out David. I felt distuging by what he did to me. I don't want to tell. I can't tell. He will kill my mom.
"You shall come live with me. We have plenty of room. You cannot, I mean cannot live in a car! Now, Faith and I will give you a ride to the house and you can get your car in the morning. When we get there you will have to fill out a 2 forms. And tonight you can sleep with Faith.
I was in total shocked.
Then Nicole started talking again.
"By the way how old are you?" she asked.
"17 about to turn 18 in a couple months."
"Did you go to school, if yes what grade are you in?"
"I dropped out like a year ago, I should be a senior."
"Okay, I am going to enroll you into school." She said. Wow. I can't believe this is happening.
Nicole wrapped a blanket around me and we got back into her car. She pull into this giant drive away. When we did we pulled into a giant house. I was shock. I swear I was about to piss my pants. Okay, well here we go. Please god, Let this work out for me.
