The Only Exception

Chapter 7

Nicole's P.O.V
~3 Days Later~
So I decided that I was going to stay home for the rest of the week,I couldn't face school I couldn't face anyone.i needed to be alone.I shut my phone off because people wouldn't stop texting me about how I'm a waste of space and a whore and that I deserve to die...which wasn't all a lie,I know I'm worthless.all I've done for the past few days is cut,sleep,cut,and sleep. I can't handle this anymore.

Ashton's P.O.V
I don't know what to do she's not replying to my text messages,i don't know if she's okay and this is tearing me apart,i think this girl could save me.but I need to save her.

I quickly ran out the door tracing the steps from school to her house,i slightly remember the walk because of going to her house on Monday after school.I knocked on the door or the beautiful little White House casually incase her mother was home.and she was.
"Hello" she asked confused
"Hi I'm Ashton," I say putting out my hand and shaking hers "I'm Nicole's friend and I was wondering if I could go up and give her some work she has missed"
"Oh that would be wonderful,I don't want her falling behind because of a small cold,just head upstairs son,she should be awake," she says pointing towards the stairs.

I take hesitant steps up the stairs turning into her room slowly opening the door,I looked in and I couldn't see her,but then I noticed the bathroom door was closed.
"Nicole?" I say lightly against the door
"Ashton?" I hear a sad voice ask
"Yeah,it's me open up"
"You need to leave"
"No way in hell am I leaving you alone ever again" I say aggressively
"Ashton you don't want to be here when I do this" she says through sobs
"No no no Nicole get out here please talk to me you can't end it you can't do this to me"
"I'm worthless"
"Nicole your the first person I've talked to in 2 years"
"What?" She asked questionably
"Yah I don't know what it is about you,but you broke my wall babe"
There was a couple minutes of silence and I leaned against the wall,she opened the door and just starred and me with her red puffy eyes and she looked so so small it took my breath away.
"Nicole.." I said but she just collapsed into my chest giving me a tight hug.
"I can't live like this" she mumbles into my chest before sitting on her bed.
"You deserve none of this,your smile is literally the only thing that keeps me going right now,Nicole in the past 2 years I've attempted suicide 4 times. And that's because I haven't felt love or had anything worth loving,but now I have you" I say while pushing my head away from hers.
Suddenly I felt her hand intertwine with mine.looking down at our two hands I notice an extensive amount of cuts on her arm. I know the feeling she has,feeling worthless,I feel this way everyday.

We just sit there holding hands in cold silence
