"was.. there anything you wanted to share?" Allison asked. The group sat on the plastic chairs left out for the alcoholics anonymous, hardly their scene (apart from Julian who was permanently tipsy).
"I would, actually. I want to talk about the day I died." The captain told the group, they hushed silent, quiet enough to wake the dead, surprised he was telling his story. He'd only ever talked about the guns and the training, his participation in the 'great' war.
"You don't have to tell us if you're not ready," Pat reassured.
But this was the time. The captain was ready to talk.
"Havers was a good mannered officer. The best second in command I could have asked for." He began.
