"God..." He sighed as he sat back on the couch and rubbed his eyes in frustration.

I sat in silence as I tried to come up with ways to address the situation to my audience. One wrongly worded sentence could run my career into the ground and it'd have to be waitressing in two different restaurants.

"Stop thinking about it, we'll figure out a way to bring it up. We just have to process this first and maybe take a small break..." Wonwoo muttered, his voice slightly trembling but he managed to keep it somewhat stable.

"What about school?"

"We can't take a break from school, dummy. It's the only thing we'll focus on for now. It'll be hard but it's the only thing we can do right now. As for social media and streaming, they'll have to wait," He replied as he stared at the ceiling.

I never thought I'd feel like this...

For the rest of the day, it was the only thing I could think about. The horrible scene I'd walked in on wouldn't stop replaying in my head.

It wouldn't stop.

Goddammit, I have an exam coming up next week...

That exam is worth more than half my grade and it's my weakest subject.

The overpriced textbook sat open in front of me, along with an annoyingly blank sheet of paper beside it.

Shut up brain, I know what happened, you don't have to remind me every two seconds...

I groaned in frustration before picking up my phone, hoping I wasn't bothering him at such a time.

Right when I was about to hit the call button under his contact information, the familiar calling screen showed up with "fart smella🦨" at the top.

"I was just about to call you," I giggled once I answered.

"Would it have been for the same reason?" He questioned, following up with a deep sigh that I felt in my soul.

"Hmm, most likely..."

"Could you possibly come over..? I know it's late but maybe if you could even sleepover that'd be great, too,"

"Sure, I'm on my way now!" I piped up as I got up and gathered my things.

"No, it's fine, I'll pick you up, it's dangerous for you to be on the street this late..."

"Oh, okay, I'll wait for you, then. I'll be ready!"

"You sounded so cheery on the phone," Wonwoo commented once I hopped in the passenger seat, slipping his slender fingers through his messy hair.

"Oh, yeah, I guess I really like talking to you, especially now... You're really the only person I have right now," I stared at the buildings and closed shops as they passed by my vision in a blur.

The rest of the car ride was silent, I could only guess we were both thinking about today's events. It clouded our minds and wouldn't let up. It feels like it never will.

Upon opening his apartment door, I was greeted with Dumptruck as she rubbed against my legs and weaved around them.

I picked her up and held her in my arms, stroking her soft, black fur as she purred into my chest.

On the contrary, Wonwoo slammed the door shut and tossed his keys onto the small dinner table before frustratedly pulling his shoes off and throwing them against the wall next to me. He stormed off into his room and slammed the door harder than he did the front door.
