It was my one-year anniversary with Kyle today! I decided I'd visit him after I finished my stream with Wonwoo.
I plopped down in the gaming chair next to him and leaned over, whispering, "I might go see Kyle after this, just thought I'd let you know,"
He smiled as he set the Nintendo Switch up on the monitor, "Okay, I hope you guys have fun!"
"Hello, Wonwoorideuls! Welcome to Mario Kart with Wonwoo and Y/N!" Wonwoo greeted.
"Yeah, we're gonna be playing with these tiny ass controllers because Nintendo is... weird with their designs... I blame capitalism," I commented as I compared the small joy-con controller to my hand to the webcam.
We played for about thirty minutes before my hand started cramping, "Ugh, CURSE THESE TINY ASS CONTROLLERS!" I stretched my hands out in front of me, attempting to relieve some of the pain.
"Try having big hands, then you can complain~" Wonwoo teased as he crossed the finish line.
I scoffed playfully at him as he loaded up another round.
This time around, I was falling a little behind in seventh place while Wonwoo was all the way in first place.
He crossed the finish line, still holding first place, and set his controller down as he rested his head on his hand and stared at me.
I tried to keep my concentration as his teasing demeanor radiated off of himself. Yet, he stayed in that same position, waiting for me to cross the finish line as countless shells came my way, holding me back.
Once I finally crossed the finish line, I leaned back in his chair and scowled at him, "This game is rigged! It's set up against me! I'm never playing again!" I yelled out of rage, lifting the small controller over my head, but ultimately, setting it down carefully.
"Calm down there, short stack, I'm sure you're just bad at this game~" He laughed at the way I glared at the screen and had my arms crossed.
We played for about thirty more minutes before Wonwoo decided to end the stream, satisfied with the way it played out.
I stood up from the chair and stretched my limbs out, "Whew, that sure tired me out..."
Wonwoo took that as a sign to end the stream, splitting the donations we've gathered together for the night.
We didn't make as much money as we used to, oddly enough. Lately, we've been losing a bit of followers and getting fewer likes on our posts. We figured it might be the algorithm or something and hoped that it'll get fixed soon, so we paid no mind.
"Okay, Wonwoo, I'll catch you later!" I exclaimed as I picked up my stuff, jingling keys in my hand.
He looked at me with a hint of doubt in his eyes, "Are you at least gonna give him a heads up before you go?"
I scoffed, "Nah, I think he'll like a surprise, he's entertained easily. Besides, it's our one-year anniversary, I'm sure he won't mind!"
"Okay, whatever you say, shithead. Be safe,"
Even though I didn't necessarily like Kyle as a person initially, we warmed up to each other over time. Hanging out for reasons other than sex or heated makeout sessions. He's actually a pretty cool person once you get to know him. He even gained my trust about hanging out with Wonwoo and no longer questions our friendship. It took a bit of time but, it was worth it. We're actually planning on moving in with each other when we graduate. Or, when he graduates... He fears he'll be held back at least two additional years from how things are playing out.
