Seeing her deep brown eyes glossed over, gazing up into his icy blue orbs with such longing was a sight he never thought he'd ever have to see. He was the thing anchoring her to Hogwarts, the thing that kept her grounded, he was her person.

His eyes drank in her beautiful face, he thought she was the most ethereal person in the world. How when she smiled she had a cute little dimple in her left cheek, her eyes scrunched at the corners and her nose scrunched when she ate a food she didn't like.

He knew everything about her, how she didn't like to have long conversations in the morning and how she wanted to grow old in a countryside home with her lover.

He desperately wished that he was going to be the one she would spend the rest of her life with, adoring each other until their last breath. But to him, he believed he would be stuck in the friend zone until the end of time.

Right then and there if he leant forward he could press his lips against hers, a simple action to convey his never ending desire to hold her. Maybe it would stop her leaving, he would get the girl of his dreams. Maybe they would graduate school together and get married. Maybe they would travel the world and have mini versions of themselves running around their sweet home.

But he couldn't do that. He couldn't stop her from following her dreams and succeeding to have a wonderful life. He also couldn't finally tell her how much he loved her and let her leave alone. It just wouldn't work. So he didn't.

"No matter where we are, even if it is half way across the world. We'll always be with each other, we'll be okay. You'll be okay. The world is so lucky to have such a fascinating soul in it, but it's definitely not ready for the marvellous woman you're growing to be. And even if we can't take it on together, it doesn't mean I won't be supporting you every step of the way." He gushed all at once, he didn't want her to leave but he wouldn't dare hold her back from success.

"Theo" she sighed.

Looking up at his face she drank in every aspect of him, she wanted to remember every freckle and every scar.

Right then and there if she leant forward she could press her lips against his, a simple action to convey her everlasting love for him.

This was an amazing opportunity for her, being offered to attend the international school of quidditch in Italy. She was scouted when the headmaster came to watch a Slytherin vs Hufflepuff quidditch match. All of her friends encouraged her to accept the offer, the most enthusiastic being Theo. Which concerned her slightly, had he just had enough of her and wanted to get rid of her? Of course not, he only wanted the very best for his best girl.

"Tilly!" She heard her mother call from their horse-drawn carriage.

"You have to go now love" Theo smiled sadly once more at her and very reluctantly withdrew his hands from her face. He placed his over hers that held his face so tenderly and carefully took her hands from his cheeks, leaving him missing the feeling of her touch.

"Theo please don't let me do this" she begged.

"No, you are going to do this. And even though it pains me to let you go so easily, I won't be the person to take away this opportunity from you. Now come on" he placed a hand on her lower back and nudged her along to her carriage.

"Come on dear, we must get going" her mother ushered her along and tore her away from her friends that stood waiting to bid her goodbye.

A million thoughts were running through her mind. This could be her last time seeing her friends, she may never see them again. She may see them again, but that may be five years time. How was she meant to cope without their annoying arses?

Theo watched her begrudgingly trudge along with her mother, chuckling at her usual stubbornness. There was no way he could watch her departure, turning on his heel he began to wander back into the castle.

Ripping her arm out of her mother's grip she swung round and sprinted in his direction. But when she looked to him, she only saw the back of his head. His curls didn't bounce as he walked, there was no spring in his step. His shoulders drooped and his head hung low.

"Theo!" She shouted as she neared him.

He whirled round at her voice just as she wrapped herself around him once more. His arms held her right to his chest.

"What are you doing?" He whispered in her ear.

"I don't know, I never do know" she chuckled "but what I do know is that there was no way I was leaving without doing one thing"

"And what's that?" He looked down at her already staring up at him.

"This" she whispered and pulled his face down to hers. She pushed her lips against his in a rushed manner and pulled away after a few seconds. Smiling mischievously up at him she untangled herself from him and turned to walk away. However, a hand on her wrist halted her movements and tugged her back into them.

In a matter of seconds his lips were on hers all over again, his right hand tangled into her crazy hair as he held her close. His left rested on her waist, while hers latched around his neck. Their lips moved in synchronisation for a mere ten seconds before they pulled away at the whistling of Draco Malfoy.

"You think I'd let you go with that pathetic excuse of a kiss, if you're going to kiss me do it properly idiot" He smirked at her.

"Oh shut up" she laughed.

"Tilly come on!" Her mother called.

"Okay I really have to go" she sighed.

"Don't go forgetting me" he winked as she walked away.

"I could never" she flashed him a cheeky grin over her shoulder.

And with that she clambered into the carriage and was whisked away into the mid-afternoon sky. Theo stood in the courtyard staring at the spot where she disappeared into seconds ago. His head was full of doubts before their kiss, part of him wished she never did kiss him. That part of him knew that he would miss her even more, it would make the pain so much worse. The other part of him was so glad she did it, she liked him back. Maybe she even loved him? But he would never get the chance to know, they didn't have enough time.

Who knows what would've happened if she had stayed?

"You alright mate?" Blaise's hand on his shoulder drew him out of his trance.

"Yeah, I'm alright" he smiled staring into the distance.

He never really pictured his life without her, he never wanted to. He always believed that no matter what they would be together, whether it was as friends or lovers, enemies or neighbours. He didn't care, as long as she was in his life. But as he was left standing in the courtyard, he knew that this had changed.

Maybe they would find each other in years to come? Maybe in another life time? Their souls only burnt for one another, but time was not on their side.
