"i swear to god- ten!" you shouted as it was the 5th time he tried to scare you. after the 2nd time it didn't work anymore, but it was really annoying.

staying over at nct u's dorm was...chaotic. really chaotic. mark and donghyuck would forever be in this love hate relationship, and when they were "angry" at each other, and you being the motherly one had to step in and resolve their issues.

ten was forever teasing sicheng and yangyang just watches and laughs. then ten would start to tease yangyang and calls him a baby and whatnot.

"형! 帮帮我! please!" (hyung! help me!) yangyang was massaging his temples in annoyance as he called out for sicheng to save him from ten.

although sicheng got used to yangyang mixing korean, chinese and english together, he ignored the boy and locked himself in his room.

jeno and sungchan were the chill ones, so they just hung out with each other and occasionally be practicing the choreography or playing video games.

and you? well it was their off week so they asked you to come over, but honestly it felt like you were just baby sitting them.

it was like a children's daycare centre in here as you witness yangyang threatening to throw a sandwich at ten and donghyuck trying to give mark a kiss but he's running away.

you sighed and shook your head. "guys, i'm gonna go to the food centre to get dinner...anything you guys want?"

"bibimbap!"

"kimchi jiggae!"

"cold noodles!"

"tteokbokki and fishcake!"

"watermelon!"

"ewww!!"

ten eyed mark in disgust as mark simply shrugged his shoulders. he couldn't deny his love for watermelon.

sungchan offered to help by going with you but you politely declined. you needed your "me time" and a stroll down the street would be great.

after buying the food, you carried them carefully and headed back to the dorm, taking your time to inhale the nice breeze and see the beautiful orangey pink sky. you probably bought more food that what they wanted, but you figured they were gonna be hungry so why not?

when you entered the door, there was...silence. you actually got scared and panic built up inside of you. "silence" was never present when you were with these guys. you cautiously entered the kitchen to put the things down, only to find that the dining table was already set with utensils, bowls and plates.

the living room seemed neater than it was before you left and the lights were dimmed low.

suddenly you heard footsteps shuffling from the bedroom corridor, and then all of them appeared...and ten was holding a cake with candles?

"happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you! happy birthday to y/n, happy birthday to youuu~" they all sang, big smiles on their faces.

in the midst of the chaos from morning till now, you totally forgot it was your birthday! you knew today was important for some reason but, you were so distracted you didn't have time to think about it!

"happy birthday, y/n!!!" donghyuck squealed. jeno spoke up, "y/n, we knew we were so chaotic today, but that's because we were too excited to surprise you with this!"

you were quite shocked to say anything so you just laughed. "you forgot your birthday, didn't you? gosh were we that distracting?" yangyang giggled. "oh my gosh, hurry and blow the candles! my arms hurt!" ten said, faking a pained look on his face as he tried to stop himself from laughing.

you rolled your eyes before you blew the candles, and a cheer erupted and echoed through the house. ten put the cake on the table behind you and everyone squashed you in a hug. all of them wished you the best and you all started jumping in the hug.

"thank you guys! it's so great to spend my birthday with you all!" you managed to say despite being squashed/hugged by all your friends. "even if you guys are kids!" you added.

"heyyyy!"
