What is happening in my life? How could he put me in this situation? How can he try to take advantage of this situation?

"No." It's such a simple word but it made me feel like everything was over. If I don't marry him, he won't save her. But, I can't put her life in danger when she is in this situation because of me.

My head starts to pound since I can barely grasp anything.

"Why?" I ask when he keeps on looking at me as if waiting for my answer. 

How can I entwine my faith to him?

"It allows me to keep you safe. You'll be with me and that is everything to me." He says, stiff. Keep me safe? Safe form what? I'm scared of him, everything he does.

"You do know, me marrying you won't make me fall for you," I say wanting him to come to his senses. It's as if he has lost his mind.

"I do know and I don't care. It matters but I don't care. Your safety is everything to me. One way or another I would have always come back to you, Roselyn. Always. You may think my feelings for you is nothing or just an obsession, but know that it's more than that. You were away from me for two weeks most but look at what happened. What if I was late? What if I couldn't have saved you? The questions repeat in my head every second and the thought of you in pain is not something that I enjoy." He speaks and stands up from the bed.

"You think forcing me to marry you or keeping me against my will not hurt me." Did he not see how miserable I was back in his mansion when he took everything from me?

He swallows hard, "I do Roselyn. I do. However, you would be safe with me. And like I said I won't keep you against your will. You have to marry me by your choice which you have. You can say no. The only difference is I won't save your friend." He puts his hand in the pocket looking down at me. Was he trying to hide his emotion by not giving me chance to look at his eyes? "You'll go to the cops and report her missing. They will try to keep you busy and after few weeks you would be going to the station while they still wouldn't have found Brielle. But I can. I know where and with whom she is. I'll save her. All you have to do is marry me. Be mine." I feel like I lost a battle and I have no choice but to surrender to the other emperor. It enrages me to know he is trying to use my vulnerable state for his want.

"There is no choice here Arosio. You put me in a situation where I have no choice. And those men took her because of you. I'm sure they were your enemy. And you say it's not an obsession. Then what is it? Why do you so desperately want me to be yours? I'll never love you Arosio." I say meaning every word. Marrying someone won't make them love each other. One can't be like I'm married to this person so, I love him or her. It's so much more.

"Like I said I don't care if you don't love me. I want you with me safe and sound. Where no injury would come to you. I'll give you the world. Everything. You say the word, I'll give it to you no matter what it is. And that includes your freedom. I'll do anything for you, Roselyn. Anything. Just be mine. Marry me." He declares and no matter how much I search in my head I see no way. Everything is blocked. The only way I see is leading me to him as I walk in a white dress.

"And don't think that I don't care because I do Roselyn. I care about you the most in the whole world. Only you. I hated seeing you in that state. I hated it with everything in me." He adds taking a step back while still looking at me.

"Please Arosio, don't make me do this." I entreat begging him with my eyes. How can you hurt the person you want to keep safe? He says he wants to keep me safe but who will save me from this obsession he has with me?

"I haven't done anything, Roselyn," he says as he turns around. You have a choice.  "The choice is yours. Marry me. You don't want to be late. It's been a day since your friend was taken. You have until this evening to make a decision. And I know you're struggling but we need to be quick if you want to save her." He says and walks out of the room, leaving me alone.
