The Gods must have heard Tay’s prayer because by the next week, Mike and Toptap are planning on a trip to Phuket Island, New’s hometown, for three weeks to visit Mrs. Teechaiphakun – bringing along Pleum.

“So you got everything I told you?” Toptap confirmed with Tay, who was given specific instructions on some things for the café.

Tay nodded. “Got it. Don’t worry about the café.” He glanced over to New talking to Pleum in a corner. “Hey, does New know you’re going to Phuket too? Did you mentioned that you were staying?”

“About that… No. Use this chance wisely.” Toptap clapped Tay in the back.

“You’re helping me a lot. Thank you.”

Toptap beamed at Tay. “Sometimes you just got to give things a little push. You’re a good man and he likes you so… use this time well.”

HONK! HONK!

“Well that’s our cue! C’mon Pleum! let's go with Uncle Toptap and Uncle Mike” Toptap called out.

New looked rattled as he sees Toptap with his keys. “Wait isn’t Mike in Phuket?”

“Uh no. Didn’t I tell you? No? Well… I’m going to Phuket too! And don’t worry, I’ve instructed Tay on what to do while I’m gone, because you know… he’s our part-timer. So yeah! Be good while were gone! Bye P'New! P'Tay!”

Pleum waved as he held Toptap’s hand. “Bye Pa! Bye Uncle Tay!”

“Excuse me??? Wha-?” New had not time to react as the taxi honked for the second time. He watched as Toptap left with his son.

“Looks like it’s just going to be you and me for the next three weeks huh? Isn’t that exciting~, Sweetheart?” Tay whispered at the younger's ear and New immediately stiffened.

New just bit his lip and ran a hand on his face. He inwardly whimpered but unexpectedly felt thrilled.

‘OH DEAR.’

-----------------

New was on edge for the first few days.

Surprisingly Tay has done nothing; if anything, he’s even flirting with New less and mostly just making sure the café was running smoothly.

New should feel relieved, and he was, but he also felt somewhat let down. He’s now beginning to think that maybe Tay isn’t interested in him anymore and he suddenly felt a pang on his chest. He didn’t like the thought… not when he was starting to like the guy.

By the end of the week, New was resigned that maybe Tay has given up. Although they live under the same roof, they barely had time to talk as when the older’s shift was over, he was immediately doing something on his laptop. So he focused on just work too, locking his feelings at the back of his head.

New let out a sigh. He quickly pulled down the blinds of the café before concentrating on cleaning the tables. Tomorrow was Sunday and that means they were closed !

‘Finally some relaxation time!’

The thought suddenly put him into a good mood and he hummed to a tune he heard in passing.

He was so focused on wiping the tables that when he felt a hand slide up his torso, he screamed. “Oh my god! You scared me!!”

Tay was behind him, smiling innocently. “It’s just me. Good job this week. You’ve worked hard. Thank God it’s Sunday tomorrow.” As he said this, he took a step towards New and the younger, sensing the heavy tension, took a step back. Tay smirked as he leaned forward, placing his hands flat on the table, trapping New in between.
