Chapter 31

Later that night Sam and Dean waited at the housing complex as Spike, and I broke into the Hinqumemen's house to steal some magical lake water.

"Have I told you how much I don't like this idea?" Spike asked me for the hundredth time tonight.

"Yes, now stop bitching and find where this freak hid his magical water so we can meet up with Sam and Dean." I snapped at him for the hundredth time.

"We have been searching this house for hours I don't think it's here." He told me again.

I was starting to think he was right, what we were looking for wasn't here. I sat down on the couch while Spike continued to look as I tried to think of a solution. Any solution would be fine.

"Shit, how can we be so stupid?" I asked as I stood up and walked to the front door.

"Love where are you going?" He asked me.

"Were looking in the wrong place. Where acting like he's hiding the water but what if he's not?" I asked him.

"Darling you're not making any sense." He said to me.

"We have been thinking that he makes the water special after harvesting it but what if the water is already special to begin with." I said as I walked outside and pointed to the lake.

"How did you not think of that sooner?" He asked me.

"You didn't realize it either." I reminded him.

"Well, I'm not the smart one!" He snapped back at me.

"I never claimed to be smart!" I snapped in reply.

"Yes, you have, every time we get into an argument you always point out how you're the brains of the operation." He reminded me.

"You know what this isn't important. Find something to collect some water." I told him as I started looking around as well.

"Will this work?" Spike asked as he held up a discarded glass beer bottle.

"I don't know Spike can that hold liquid?" I snapped at him.

"No need to be testy love." He replied as he walked over and handed it to me.

"Time to steal some magical healing and or cursed water." I told him as we stood in front of the lake staring at it.

During the daytime, the lake water looked calming and inviting. Like it was meant to be always filled with people. Right now, it looked dark and foreboding. It almost scared me to be so close. The feeling of the unmoving water was one of danger and death. It was a warning to all that would dare come when not invited. It was the ultimate guard dog. One that for the majority of time worked. A quick thought of how crazy the people who came and stole this water must have been. Crazy or desperate probably desperate I thought.

"Destiny." Spike called snapping me out of my thoughts.

"You have to do it." I told him as I handed him back the bottle.

"And why is that?" He asked me.

"Because we want him to go after you and not after me." I reminded him.

"Have I told you how much I hate your plan." He told me as he grabbed the bottle from me.

"Continuously, just get it done the guys are waiting for us." I told him.

"We wouldn't want to keep them waiting." He responded as plunged the bottle into the lake to snatch the water that was probably going to get us all killed.

"Got it." He said as he held up the bottle to show it to me.

"That was easer then I thought." I told him.

I almost instantly regretted my words as I noticed the water in the middle of the lake start to move as if it was coming alive. Spike had not noticed it yet as he was looking at me.

"Spike step away from the water!" I yelled at him.

"Why?" He asked as he spun around to see the water pulling itself out of the water and together as it started to form a human-like shape.

"Well bloody hell." He said as he stepped back and joined me at my side.

"What now?" He asked.

"Get in the fucking car!" I yelled at him then started running towards my car.
