Chapter 4~•
Execution Of The Plan
"Rainbow comes after rain, silence spreads after storm, morning follows night, ease follow hardships, relief follows pain. And happiness is, in accepting the pair of opposites in life."
*Hamda Hudai*
The glow in her eyes and the beaming smile on her face made me dubious for a while.I knew she was up to something mischievous, and I was kind of scared to know it because I had an intuition that it had something to do with me.
"What" I asked her cautiously,as if my tone will decide the nature of her answer.
"Wait,I am still formulating it." She said with a mock seriousness on her face and her fingers moving in some weird pattern in the air.
"Why am I getting a feeling that I have something to do with this plan and I won't be much happy to listen to it."
"No surprise there because you are going to execute it." She sounded like a chief, sending someone on a confidential mission.
"If you are done yattering can we please come to the point." I hollered irately.
"Okay, you are the principle player of this scheme which means you have to be extra careful with your steps and..." The pesky look on my face had her stop in the mid of her sentence.
"Fine girl,I am skipping the other details because I see you are not interested in them.Fast forward to the plan.Evan is having a seat on the window side of the classroom which opens to the main field. You'll go to him, slide up the sash, flash one one of your cutest smile and request him politely to pass on the packet to Misha." She spoke in one breath.
"See I told you, simple and real quick only if you hurry up."
"Come on! let's get it done quickly." She held my hand and started advancing by steps to the field.
"Excellent Idea Areej! But why do I have to be the 'principle player' as you say.Let's switch our roles, you be the main man and I'll supervise it".
Instead of saying a straight 'No' I tried to convince her to do the job.No way I was going to do this.
Atleast not after the encounter I had with Evan last time.I still remember the whole incident and the embarrassment that it had caused me.But was somewhat glad that I made it clear infront of the very same crowd that had witnessed his silly behavior also perceived my mature response to it and most important of all I made it apparent to Evan, that his feelings for me are only one sided and I am certainly not that kind of girl who believes in girl-friend boy-friend relationship or entertain any such notion for that matter.
With that I had walked away from the crowd not bothering to the voice that was calling my name.
"Had he been any other boy I'd gladly do it myself but he is Evan, the cocky and the arrogant fella. There is not even a slim chance that I can have my way with him so it boils down to you only". She spoke shrugging her shoulders.
"If he is a bad boy to you then he is a bad boy to me too, drop that idea." Her answer couldn't satisfy me.
"No dear, that's where you are going wrong. The entire school knows,he has a secret admiration for you.Haven't you ever noticed how his eyes shine when he is around you?".
I was bowled over her outspokenness. To brush off the embarrassment I retorted,"the entire school knows it and its still a secret? Stop pawning off your work on me for no good reason,I am not doing this." I was still adamant for not doing it.
