You stumbled back, heat rushing into your cheeks as you regained balance. Immediately standing up, you turned away from him. You covered your mouth with your hands, the sound of your heart pounding loudly.

You couldn't face Inumaki. It was too embarrassing.

"Are you alright?"

You whirled to look at Inumaki, eyebrows furrowed at what he had just asked you.

"Am I alright? You..."

Flustered, you couldn't form the words to finish your sentence. You grumbled, looking at the cold ground. Inumaki's voice sounded hesitant, coated with a tone of shyness,

"Sorry."

You glanced back at Inumaki, your body still hot despite the chilly night wind.

"You scared me..."

Silently muttering to yourself, you nudged Inumaki's shoulders, helping him as you both got up. You'd never felt such relief and ecstasy in such a short moment. Glancing away from him, you wondered if he could hear how loud your heartbeats were.

Inumaki... likes me?

You quickly buried your face into your hands, thoughts still scattered in the moment as you stood still in the middle of the street.

Inumaki likes me.

Your mind only echoed of that one sentence, replacing the storm of what other thoughts you had in your head.

Whispering softly to yourself, you heard Inumaki's quiet footsteps approach you. You finally pulled your flustered face away, tightening the jacket wrapped around you.

In truth, Inumaki had only recently realized that he'd grown fond of (Y/N). He'd thought that his lingering feelings were those of a close friend's, but he slowly grew more attached. He admired the way she would pick herself up along with her reassuring presence.

In a world of supernaturals and unworldly phenomenons, Inumaki noticed how (Y/N) was trying to cover up her flaws. It reminded him of himself when he was younger, and he couldn't help but grin stupidly.

You both were a nervous train wreck, but you still tried. Trying to gather up the courage, you softly muttered to him,

"So, I guess we're dating?"

You turned to see Inumaki's widened lavender eyes which quickly turned to the ground. You both exchanged eye contact, to which Inumaki started to softly chuckle and you followed too.

You never felt so relieved. So appreciated for something.

Underneath the night sky that was aglow with dazzling lights, your hand grazed Inumaki's. A flush creeped across his ears, feet shuffling as you both held hands.

Tilting your head, you gave Inumaki an assuring smile. You didn't know what to do, but if there was anything you could do, it was to assure him.

Walking down the street, hand in hand, you felt Inumaki's stare at you. The steps that followed you were inaudible, replaced by the loud thumping in your chest. However, it felt slightly relieving instead of just nervousness.

You both walked next to the endless wall of Jujutsu High, your right hand tracing across it while holding a plastic bag. It was rough, cold from the bleak autumnal night.

When you'd reached the campus, you were slightly thankful that nobody was awake. Either that, or nobody was outside. Inumaki accompanied to your dorm, the lights still off and room surely cold.

You let go off his hand to rummage through your small satchel bag, looking for your dorm keys. You glanced up to face Inumaki, whose eyes spoke softly of disappointment. Chuckling, you opened the door and turned to face him,

"Wanna come in?"

As if he was a child who had just seen Santa Clause, Inumaki's face lit up. He eagerly nodded his head, rubbing the back of his neck. At this rate, you thought to yourself that he might as well turn into a tomato.

Turning on the lights, you set your shoe aside as Inumaki followed behind you. You placed the wrinkled bag of curry on the table, pushing back the folding strands of hair from your face. You hang Inumaki's jacket on a chair, Inumaki taking off his mask.

The pale moonlight poured from the window, illuminating the room as you warmed both yours and Inumaki's dinners up.

With the ding of the microwave, you set the two plates of curry on the table. You pulled back the creaking wooden chair and sat across Inumaki. You heard your stomach softly grumble, catching scent of the sweet fragrance in the air.

You couldn't ignore the lingering hunger in your stomach, so you ate to your delight. The sauce hinted a bit of spice, but the flavors all complimented one another so well that even the aroma was indulging.

You sneaked a peek at Inumaki, wondering why he was so quiet. You weren't sure if it was because of the spice or embarrassment, but you felt the room grow hot as you saw him staring intently at you.

When Inumaki noticed, he warmly smiled, resting his chin on his hands. He was eating, but his focus was on you, enjoying how much you were delighted with your dinner.

You choked on your food, coughing as Inumaki quickly came over to you.

"Are yo-"

"You're embarrassing me," You softly muttered, throat dry.

Inumaki glanced away, fiddling with his fingers as he laughed,

"Sorry, I just thought you were really pretty."

Coughing again, you couldn't believe his words. To you, Inumaki was prettier. Definitely. You felt his stare on you again, making you slightly nervous.

"The curry's going to get cold," You reminded, frowning as your face grew flustered.

When he noticed, Inumaki quickly waddled to his food, nodding his head. You couldn't help but chuckle to yourself at how clumsy he was. Although that wasn't the case a few minutes ago.

Just thinking about how he'd responded to your honest reply sent chills down your spine, urging you to stuff your mouth a bit to distract you.

Suddenly, you heard a few knocks on your door.

Who is it?

You got up from your chair, briskly walking to open the wooden door. As soon as you unlocked it, you opened it to find Kugisaki standing in front.

"Is that Inumaki?" She asked, peeking over your shoulders.

"Oh, and we have a mission tomorrow morning. Get ready."
