Serephina has a thing for guns and because of this is an excellent sharpshooter. Having learnt from her grandfather and father, against her mothers wishes, Serephina can shoot very precisely from a lot of different distances and positions. 

Serephina herself would say that she is okay at shooting with a gun, that she knows the basics. It's simply because she doesn't want to outshine anyone or draw to much attention to herself, a girl who hangs around the docks, works on a pirate ship and can handle a gun and sword like any feared pirate. She also is of the opinion that there are always new tricks and things she can learn.

With Serephina being an adventurous and wild child her father found many ways to keep her busy since her mothers ideas never seemed to work. One of those ideas was to take the girl to his workshop where he carved whatever piece of wood he would find. Serephina's father though the girl how to carve wood and what tools to use at what moment. This not only resulted in Serephina being able to carve beautiful ornaments and trinkets to sell but also for her to know what carving tool she could possibly use to defend herself.

Backstory:

Serephina grew up in a small town, surrounded by her friends, family and travelers coming to their markets.

Her childhood was filled with playing outside, helping her father with woodcarving in his workshop, stories from the travelers and her father, who told her about serephina's grandfathers travels. Her childhood was easy, filled with fun and never really a boring day.

As serephina grew up her mother started to teach her a lot more lady like things. Serephina didn't agree though also didn't mind learning some things and pleasing her mother a bit. Serephina kept hope that her mother would come around and allow her to do her own things.

When Serephina was a bit older her mother finally allowed her to travel with her father, just once as her mother hoped it would be the opposite of what her daughter thought it to be. During the travel Serephina developed a fear of thunder and her mother didn't allow her to travel anymore.

It was after her father died and Serephina's world of fun and adventure that her mother started to talk to the young girl about setting down, marriage and having a family. While serephina never was against the idea she knew it wasn't just for her so one night , while her mother was with their neighbours, serephina ran away. She went to the docks, dressed like a man, cut her hair to shoulder length and snuck onto a ship, hoping it would take her somewhere far away.

The first two tattoos Serephina gets are for her parents. Despite not having a great relationship with her, Serephina chooses a rose for her mother as it was the flower she would talk most about, though not her favorite and a block of wood for her father and the time they have spend together carving wood.
